You groaned as you felt a soft fabric pressed up against the side of your cheek. Your eyes shot over to the fabric. It was Sans' jacket. You must've been cold during the night. You rolled out of bed and searched for something comfortable to wear. Before you could approach your closet, something red in the corner of your eye caught your attention.
You wandered over to the package and pick it up. It was a heart shaped box, with a small note clipped to the side.
'Hey sweetheart, happy Valentine's Day. Hope you enjoy this day as much as I will. Go downstairs into the place where we almost set the room ablaze. Love you doll, I'll be waiting at the end <3'
Your heart fluttered. He planned this all for you? You and Sans had been dating for a couple of months, yet you didn't take him for someone to plan a grand romantic gesture. You smiled, and opened the package. Inside were your favourite chocolates. The sweet aroma travelled through your nose. You picked one up and ate it, savouring the taste.
You then remembered back to the note. Set the room ablaze? The kitchen. It had to be. Papyrus, his younger brother, had accidentally burnt the kitchen down on numerous occasions when he had come to visit with his 'infamous' lasagna. You quickly run to your closet and put on a soft f/c sweater and black jeans. You ran to the kitchen and surprisingly found Papyrus hunched over in a chair.
"Uh.. Papyrus?" You called out to the skeleton, capturing his attention. The said skeleton glared at you, fixing his posture. "THANK GOD. YOU CERTAINLY TOOK YOUR TIME GETTING OUT OF BED THIS MORNING. YOU'RE PERFECT FOR MY LAZY BROTHER." He hissed.
You titled your head in curiosity. "How-how long have you been sitting there?" You asked. "SANS CALLED ME A FEW HOURS AGO TO HELP HIM OUT. BEING THE MERCIFUL BEING I AM, I ACCEPTED. HOWEVER, HE IS GOING TO REPAY ME!" Papyrus declared. You suppressed a laugh and nod your head.
"Alright! I assume this is a treasure hunt or something, so, do I get a clue?"
Papyrus rolled his eyes. "AREN'T YOU INTELLIGENT." He handed you a small note, followed by a f/f (favourite flower, lucky you). Your smile instantly widened at the sight of your favourite flower. It looked beautiful, and well preserved surprisingly.
You take both the flower and note and thank Papyrus, causing him to flush. "W-WHATEVER. NOW HURRY UP AND READ THE NOTE SO I CAN LEAVE!" He groaned. You giggled, and read the note.
'Guess that clue was really obvious, huh? Of course, you figured it out. You never fail to set my heart on fire. Anyways, come to the place where we had our first date. Another surprise is waiting for you. See you soon'
First date? You doubt he's talking about the underground. The underground wasn't the best place for Sans, he definitely wouldn't want to spend your first Valentine's Day together down there. He must mean on the surface. The first place you both went to was Grillby's.
How'd he manage to convince Grillby to be apart of this? Must've paid off his tab for him to have agreed to this.
"Thank you Papyrus! I appreciate you doing this!" You smiled. Papyrus once more flushed, nodding his skull hysterically. "Y-YEAH YEAH... JUST, GO!" He ordered. You waved and walked off.
*Time skip*
You approached the bar, smoke and light practically pouring from the front door. It smelled of grease and burnt food. It comforted you. It reminded you of Sans. You pushed the doors open, revealing the small bar that had become very familiar with in the past months.
Grillby appeared to be a cold, rude monster, his cold glare would instantly give you weird vibes. However, he actually was really nice. When Sans wasn't being an ass to him. He was kind to you, sometimes offered you a free meal, much to Sans' disappointment.
