As soon as you opened your eyes, you felt a sharp pain shoot through your leg. You clenched your teeth.

What in fuck's name happened-

Oh. That.

Memories of the incident rushed back to you. You shivered in discomfort.

Memories of you and Sans last night circled your mind. You felt your face slowly burn in embarrassment. You pressed your hands against your cheeks.

Oh stars. Heavens above. Mother of everything holy.

What did you get yourself into. Why did you do it. He was feeling guilty, you just wanted to provide him some comfort.

You're not ready for a relationship, did he think you guys were dating? Were you dating? Was he your boyfriend? Were you his partner?

Was this how it was going to be? Was he going to put your arm around your waist every time you go out, scowl at you every time you tried to tease him for it? Stealing his jacket even though he specifically said not to?

You smiled softly at the thought, but shook your head to get rid of it. No. It sounded nice. It did. But you weren't sure where you stood with the skeleton.

One minute he's flirting with you, making you blush, and the next he's telling you to go fuck yourself.

And with all that was going on, you really didn't need this. At least not now. And he knew that too.

Thinking of said skeleton, you noticed that he was no longer where you last saw him. He must've left. You went to get up slowly, but flinched as you realised just how weak your legs were from lying down.

"You shouldn't be moving." A scoff came from the otherside of the room. Your eyes darted over to Alphys, who leaned against the wall, arms crossed.

An angry expression plastered on her face.

"You're a pitiful human." She huffed. You blinked. What.

"Excuse me?" You asked, glaring at the reptile. She rolled her eyes, her head lowering.

"Papyrus is putting all this effort in for a small, worthless human. We could just give you to Asgore and be free of this hell. You do know that."

You stayed quiet. You didn't say anything. You couldn't find anything to say. What could you say.

In some aspect, she was right.

"You're just dragging us down. You don't even know how to defend yourself."
You fiddled with your fingers, your (e/c) eyea darting everywhere.

"It's not like you know how to defend yourself either." You mumbled. Alphys' glasses shifted, her eyes slightly visible.

"Excuse me."

"Isn't that why you're hiding in here? Why you're hiding the other monsters in here?"

Alphys opened her mouth to say something, but nothing came out.

"I'm trying to help in different ways, just like you. It's pretty hypocritical for you to say that."

"But you're the one they're after! And we're the ones dying because of it!" She snapped, slamming her balled up hand into the wall.

You flinched at the noise, scowling at the pain that shot through your leg.

"We've lost hell knows how much of our population for some bratty human who wants you. And we're suffering because of it! Undyne suffered because of it!"

Alphys pushed her glasses further up her nose, then pushed herself off the wall.

"I didn't ask for any of this. It's not my fault." You muttered, guilt evident in your voice.
