Haku inspected the truck. He looked up and down it making sure to check every inch of it for damage. Or at least that's what it looked like he was doing. In truth Haku had gotten into character and was enjoying being a detective. He climbed into the front seat of the truck, every thing looked just how he had left it. But just to be sure, Haku gave it the run down, everything inside seemed to be in working order. Haku decided he should take one more look around just to be sure.
Sapp was on his way back to the station as quickly as possible. His last conversation with the guard was disturbing, someone was pretending to be him to inspect the truck. Whoever it was must've been pretty good in order to fool the guards, Sapp was always lecturing them on this or that. Sapp turned the corner the station was in sight now. When Sapp got back he was going to give those guards a lesson in badge protocol, after he caught this imposter that is.
Kuragi was already back at her apartment, as soon as the guard left her, she had hopped back here. She did see the room with the truck, so she could jump there and meet up with Haku, but what if he's already left, and Kuragi warps straight into the hands of the police. Or worse yet, what if Haku has already been caught, then Kuragi would be walking into the police's hands. Kuragi grabbed the remote and turned on her TV, in the end it's probably better if she just stay here. She'll keep an eye on the news just in case though.
Sapp stepped into the police station and walked straight to the front desk. Of course no one was there. Why'd he have to go on lunch right now of all times. Sapp grabbed the guards keys from behind the desk and took off towards the back, he was going to catch this imposter firsthand. All the back doors leading to the truck were unlocked, when he got back Sapp was gonna make sure that guard was fired, even if this imposter was Sapp this is too careless.
Haku finished his final inspection, the truck seemed completely and totally operational. There was one feature he didn't test, but that would have to wait til he got out of here, because right when he hopped back into the truck he saw himself come rushing through the door. Or at least the person he was cosplaying. Sapp burst into the room and saw himself climbing into the driver side of the truck. He was stunned for a bit at how good the disguise was. They captured all of him perfectly, from his on brand detective hat to his custom ordered size specific undercoat. Haku took this as his opportunity to leave, and revved up the engine. Sapp blew his whistle and ran straight towards the truck waving his hands wildly. Haku was scared now, he didn't want to get caught, jail life sounded so boring, but what was he going to do, the garage door was still closed, Haku was trapped and his disguise meant nothing now. Haku took a deep breath, there was only one thing to do in this situation. Haku floored the gas pedal the truck lurched forward at speeds that a normal truck wouldn't be able to attain in this small space. Haku smashed through the garage door sending metal shards flying in every direction. The guard from earlier was heading back from his lunch break, when to his surprise the massive truck burst from the wall narrowly missing him. Sapp however was not so lucky, he tried to stop the truck, but to no avail, the truck smashed through him just like it smashed through the garage door seconds later. Haku didn't have time to thinkon it tho, it only took a matter of minutes before police cars started chasing him. The truck was fast and was able to stay away from the police, but he wouldn't be able to evade them forever. Haku knew what he needed to do, he turned the corner and pulled a lever. Nothing happened... Haku knew he should've took time to test this out in the garage, he would've if that detective guy hadn't walked in. Dang, Haku knew what needed to be done, but he really didn't want to do it. He reached into his pocket and grabbed his phone, the truck was still barreling down the road at 115 kilometers per hour. Haku lifted the phone to his ear, immediately from the other end a voice squealed. " HAKU!!! I can't believe it, I thought you'd never call... wait this is about the truck isn't it, you never talk to me otherwise. If this is about the truck I don't want to hear it. It's always truck this truck that." Haku rolled his eyes, he really didn't want to deal with her at the moment, but he had no other options, the police were fast closing in.
" Listen Audrey, I just called cuz I was missing you and wanted to uhh, see you again."
" Right." She said in a sarcastic tone.
" It's true Audrey, and I was thinking, what if you warped me to you right now. We could uhh... hang out and stuff."
" That sounds...... AMAZING. Where are you, I'll bring you here now."
Haku looked around and read passing street signs. " I'm not quite sure where I am, tell you what, just hit the whole intersection of Main Street and second street. I'll be there."
" Well alrighty then, see you soon." Haku hung up the phone, he was fast approaching that intersection. He slammed the breaks and turned the wheel. The truck flipped on its side and continued barreling forward. It came to a screeching halt right in the middle of the intersection. Haku climbed out of the passenger side door which was now on top of the truck. He looked around, he was completely surrounded on all sides by police officers, and they were closing in. The ground below Haku began to glow. He smiled and waved at his crowd, then seconds later he was gone truck and all.
