"Who are you?" Haku asked the little kid. The kid looked no different from any other elementary school kid, in fact he even had a little backpack on. Something about the kid however was very non-human, Haku couldn't explain what was off, but something definitely was.
" We have much to talk about." The kid spoke maintaining his smile the whole time. " Now show me in, grab me something to drink, come on I'm a guest now aren't I?"
" Haku who is it?" Kuragi shouted from the other room.
"No idea, make some tea." Haku shouted back.
" Tea really.... I'd much prefer some wine." The kids voice came from behind Haku. Haku turned to see the kid digging through their cupboards. " Ah here we go." The kid reached into the back of the cupboard and pulled out a large bottle of wine with a foreign label on it.
" Wait where did that come from?" Haku watched confused as he also pulled a wine glass from a drawer.
The kid poured the wine and motioned towards the other room. " Shall we then."
A sound like a deep thud came from the room in the direction he motioned, Haku peeked into the room. The boy was already sitting on the far end of their table, Kuragi was sitting staring at the boy with a complete loss of words.
" Come sit..... you human, give me and him some time to talk." As if under a spell Kuragi got up and left the room. Haku approached the table cautiously and took a seat at the opposite end.Kuragi, the original Kuragi that is, wracked her brains, she couldn't remember her parents at all, and yet judging by what these people in her room had said. They were her parents. This was all to weird, Haku should've been back by now.
" So...?" Kuragi was snapped out of her thoughts by this sudden question posed to her by her father.
" Huh...?"
" Oh I was just mentioning the funeral, it's being held later today. You seem really close to our daughter, so I'm sure she would be pleased if you came."
" Sure.." Attending her own funeral was not something that appealed to her, but forgetting things from the past was troubling. She'd go to remember the person she once was." Where to begin..." The little kid waved his wine glass in a circular pattern. " Well I suppose I should introduce myself first, I'm sure you remember the company, your good friend Jasper still works for us."
Haku grunted how could he not remember the company. They were such a huge part of the god culture. What specifically they did however was known to relatively few. All Haku knew was that when he helped Jasper they were always traveling to different worlds and handling all sorts of problems.
" I see your knowledge is still very limited... oh yea, I should mention I can hear your thoughts as if you were saying them aloud, so don't think of anything pervy." Haku jumped back a bit. The kid smiled. " Anyways as I said you're knowledge is limited, which makes sense, we don't disclose our secrets easily. However, now is a time that calls for it. So as you've gathered the company solves problems for the citizens of different worlds. We get all kinds of requests, ranging from ' Help we need more water for crops' all the way up to ' Help a genocidal demon is persecuting all humans'. We gods higher in the company receive the peoples prayers and pass the assignments onto the company workers like Jasper. Me personally, I'm in charge of the whole company, the names chief Yanagi, but you will refer to me as chief."
....Wait, chief? This young kid is the chief of the company?
" Yes I am.... Anyways, to the main issue here. We currently are going through some rough time at the company, a certain employee of ours seems to be plotting something."
Certain employee.... Could he mean Burnes, the one who started Haku on his journey.
" Oh you know him, that makes this explanation easier. You see, Burnes is currently trying to overthrow me. He's had all sorts of crazy schemes in the past to try to become the head of the company. This latest scheme however is one of the craziest yet, and the worst part about it is that it's starting to work." He took a sip from his glass. " So to get straight to the point, I need you to abandon that world."
... Haku tried his hardest to not think about anything. " Why?"
" Oh, I see how it is, you won't give up on that world so easily will you."
" But how?"
" Quite often trying to repress ones thoughts makes it easier for me to read them. Either way, I need you to stop with that world, but I can be patient. Finish your business there by the end of the month."
The end of the month, it was the third today, that left him almost a full month to defeat the demon lord, would that be enough time......
" Good question, you better get started soon. Oh and one more thing, that girl you are doing this with, don't you think it's about time she returned to reality."
Kuragi, could Haku really send her back to her life like nothing had happened. Well whatever, the important thing is the other world, This kid was right Haku needed to get back to fixing it as soon as possible, Haku got up quickly ready for action, jiggle. Right he wasn't quite himself. " How do I fix this?"
The kid smiled. " Oh I'm sure it will fix itself eventually. Now I've got to go, I'm a very busy individual."
"Wait!! Help me!!" It was too late the kid was gone. Kuragi returned from the other room.
" Oh the guest, I didn't see him leave?"Haku got up from bed, what a weird dream.
" It was a weird dream wasn't it." A young child's voice echoed in his head. Haku looked around quickly, but he was all alone in his room in the godly realm. Welp, today was the day he was reuniting with Kuragi after his little trip.
