Detective Sapp sat in the local cafe, these past couple days he's encountered many people who have claimed to have seen the truck or know something of its driver. Today was a little different the boy who sat across the table from him also claimed to have seen the truck, but Sapp believed he could gain more valuable information from him as opposed to some random sighting of the truck." So let me get this straight." Sapp was reviewing the notes he had written on his pen pad. " This truck." He pointed on the picture on the table. " Ran over your girlfriend in japan."
" She was not my girlfriend... I didn't even get the chance to ask her out." Wesley had locked himself in his room ever since his encounter with the truck, but when he saw the truck on the news he knew his time had come. Now he had one thought on his mind, and that was bringing that truck driver to justice and avenging Kuragi.
" Got it, Got it." Detective Sapp prepared himself, he had done some research, and believed he might have found his first lead on the case. " So that girl that got hit, is this her?" Sapp handed him a picture he had taken yesterday of the suspicious girl who had taken his photo and ran. Sapp had looked into the accident reports relating to Kuragi's death, and found them rather incomplete, the perpetrator for incident was never caught, and even more strange, if Sapp's suspicions were correct, which they often were, then Kuragi was still alive and well out there.
Wesley looked over at the photo. " Yes, that is her. But that photo how'd you get it? That looks like she's here in this cafe."
Detective Sapp did not respond to his question, he simply got up and picked up his stuff to leave. " Thanks kid, I think I've got what I need."
" But wait you didn't even ask me what the truck driver looked like, or any other details about the incident."
" Doesn't matter, I can find what I need to know about the driver out easily without your help. But kid believe me when I say that you were a big help to this investigation, bigger than you may ever know." Before Wesley could object anymore Sapp turned and left the cafe. This girl Kuragi somehow she fit in with this case, and Sapp was going to figure out how.Back at the station Haku and Kuragi had begun their plan. They walked into the police station, Haku fully in costume with Kuragi following close behind. Haku walked straight up to the front desk without hesitation.
" Ah, detective Sapp, welcome back, that was fast. No leads I'm guessing" the person behind the desk took a glance behind him. " Who do we have here... Well if it isn't the photo girl, what's going on Sapp, you know we can't arrest her for simply taking a picture."
Haku opened his mouth to talk, but instead began violently coughing, during which time Kuragi wrote a response for him on a piece of paper and slipped it into his hand. He held up the paper to the man behind the desk, while still coughing into his other hand." I think I've got a lead, take me and the girl to the truck, I'd like to do some further investigation."
The man squinted at the paper. " I see, I see, go ahead and follow me." The man got up and led them through a door in the back. They walked past interrogation rooms, cells, and all sorts of other places until they arrived at the last door in the hallway, simply labeled garage. The man opened the door and led them in. In the far back corner of the garage sat the truck.
Haku held up another piece of paper that Kuragi had wrote for him and started coughing again. " Alright this might take awhile so you can go ahead and take your leave."
" Oh alright sir, and the girl, want us to hold onto her for you."
Haku grabbed the next paper from Kuragi and held it up, this paper read " No, thank you." But Haku's thumb was covering most of the No, so the man read it simply as " Thank You." He grabbed Kuragi by the hand and led her away. Kuragi looked back at Haku who was frozen in place staring at her getting taken away. She pointed vigorously at the truck and the garage door. Haku nodded in understanding. The man led Kuragi back through the place and stopped at a cell. " You can sit in here til the detective is done." Kuragi was worried, but not about being locked up, before they had left she had forced Haku to give her a piece of chalk in case they got split up. No she was worried that somehow Haku would mess this up. She didn't go over the plan in much detail with him, but from this point onwards it was straightforward enough, he just needed to open the garage and drive the truck out of there. Kuragi wasn't one hundred percent sure how, but she believed once Haku was on the open road he'd be able to get the truck out of there hassle-free. The man stopped not to far outside of her cell, he reached into his pocket and produced a small radio. The person on the other end of the radio spoke, " This is Sapp, I'm on my way back to the station. I think I've got us a lead."
" Sapp this is HQ, nice joke, but you can't fool me, I just personally escorted you to the truck."
" You fool, that wasn't me, didn't you ask to see his badge."
" Oh I see, I'm going to go back there and you're gonna lecture me on badge protocol, sorry Sapp, but I don't have time for this right now, I'm almost on break." He turned the radio off and walked back towards the front desk. Now Kuragi was more worried, Sapp knew something was up and was on his way back. Haku was now on a time limit.
