The sun had set hours ago, there were no lights on in the whole building. None save for one. Tucked away in the corner a single office worker diligently worked on some form of paperwork. Most likely something related to another world, as that was what this company dealt with. Vee however was not interested in this lone worker, or whatever he was doing here this late at night, no, the reason she was here was to find him. The one who takes the form of a child, the one who communicates through dreams, and also the only one who could stop Bern's plans. Just about an hour ago the kid had tried to enter Vee's dreams, allowing her to trace his signal back to here. The empty office spaces did not however seem to be where the signal was originating, instead it seemed to come from a large door at the back. Vee made her way over to that door and..... it was locked. No big deal, she was prepa....
"We aren't allowed in there miss.." the office worker who was here alone had approached Vee from behind to give her the warning.
"Oh, what's behind that door?"
"I don't know, well I mean, it's the bosses office, but nobody's been in there, and that door's never open. I would say no one's ever in there, but three meals get sent there through the in-house mail system daily."
Vee pulled out a lock pick and began working the lock.
"Wait, don't...."
To late, with an easy click and turn of the knob the door opened, what was inside shocked both of them. A little child sat unconscious in a large swivel chair, cords came out of the back of him and hooked into a massive computer system. Neither god nor machine, the child was simply a human. One that had transcended gods, and now sat atop a major company dictating the order of the godly realm. Using nothing but cheap tricks and a childlike imagination, this kid had swayed the minds of some of the most powerful gods out there. Now though he sat helpless in this chair, his consciousness tethered to a fake setup Vee had created elsewhere, in the end, it took a human to catch him.
"No... No way, it's a human?" The office worker was visibly confused. Vee however had suspected this possibility from the start, gods were always ranking themselves by power and status and whatnot. Through the power of dreams this kid could make the strong feel helpless, those with high status stripped of their titles, all that and more this kid did within the past five years, all using this system in here. And while, the system did interest her, Vee was actually only interested in the boy himself. In this crazy world of gods, he was the only one catching on to Bern's plans, and therefore needed to be removed from the picture for a bit. Vee walked to the center of the room and scooped up the kid under her arm gently unplugging him.
"Wait, you can't just do that..."
"I can and I am, thanks for the help, see you hopefully not again." Without warning Vee sprayed the office worker in the face with some kind of chemical and he was out cold. She shifted her haul to under her other arm and made her way out of the building. The kid didn't stir, not that he could in the state he was currently in.It was go mode, any second now David would pass by Kuragi, Jasper would rescind his godly powers from him, and the truck would claim it's next victim. For the most part that happened..... Well kind of, not exactly actually. David did indeed drive by, and Kuragi did indeed hit him with the truck, but what happened in between the two events were completely unexpected and were not entirely clear to any participating party. Starting from Jaspers point of view; he completely missed the whole thing, completely distracted by a story Haku was telling. So even when David got close to Kuragi Jasper did not remove his godly power from David. Next from David's perspective, he came around a narrow turn in the track, and a truck came out of nowhere, but as he was expecting interesting twists and turns, he deftly slid under the truck and came out the other side unscathed. Then about thirty seconds later a truck dropped on him from straight above crushing him instantly. Odd sure, but nobody could understand or explain what happened from Kuragi's perspective. David turned the corner liked planned, Kuragi hit the gas, but unlike the plan David still had his powers and easily avoided the truck.
"Damnit." Kuragi closed her eyes and slammed her hands on the dashboard. Her head felt light, her mind blank. Why was she here, why did she care. Her left pocket burned, the charm she had taken from Audrey's house causing immense pain on her left thigh. She felt movement like she was being sucked to a new position, and for a few seconds Kuragi couldn't breathe. Kuragi opened her eyes and took a second to try to process what had happened. She couldn't... Her brain couldn't physically comprehend what had happened. The gods were no help, they were still up in the stands talking about who knows what. Kuragi shakily opened the door to the truck and fell out in a less then graceful manner, her leg scraped against something metal when she hit the ground. She looked over to see a mangled bike sticking out from under the truck. At least she accomplished the mission, no matter the method. Kuragi's eyes closed as her consciousness slipped away.
