Something was there. A memory was just within reach. I closed my eyes and sat down on Mika's bed, taking a deep breath in and out. It was time for me to try something I hadn't thought of before.

Back at the kitchen, before JJ and I had been attacked by Kraven, I had touched one of the knives and seen something. I had a similar reaction to the tree trunk stored in our mansion - the trunk of a cursed tree. I had seen something.

Soro had hinted that one of my abilities was to view an items past. Well, what if that idea could work on people. What if I could use that spell - whatever spell it was - to view my past.

I stared down at my working hand, opening and closing it. Then, I touched my forehead and tried to remember. I shut my eyes, and my breathing slowed. And then I saw something - a flash of whirling colors, and the sound of metal grinding on metal. A sharp pain split through my head. I opened my eyes and shook my head irritably, then closed them again. I had to do this!

Another flash of colors. My head started throbbing.

"Damn..." And then my eyes opened. I was standing in a field; the grass was blowing in the wind. The sky was a bright blue, and the clouds were floating lazily through the sky. I shook my head again, looking around.

"Come on, Akaya." A voice behind me said.

"What?" I turned around, trying to find the voice. The world behind me was black, but as I watched it flickered into existence. A swirl of mist appeared briefly, and a girl appeared. And behind her, I saw...myself?

I narrowed my eyes. It felt wrong to see myself like this. I was wearing a camouflage shirt and blue pants. I was wearing a belt of gunblade ammunition, and my weapon was strapped to my back. My arm was in its usual blue sling. My hair was brown and blue, instead of the full blue it had changed to after I became a familiar.

The girl was wearing a short skirt and a t-shirt. Her hair was light pink and stopped at her shoulders. She was thin and easily a head shorter then I was. Her face was smooth and she had bright blue eyes. The girl wore a satchel and carried a strange gun with glowing orange lines running through it.

The other version of me stopped for a moment, checking over his shoulder. The girl looked back at him. "If we're not fast we won't make it in time."

"I know." The other me replied, hurrying to catch up. "Just what is Lightblade planning, Hunaria?"

Hunaria! The girl Lightblade was with in the call! I remember her, now! She's a Tanen princess. Wyrmrest! The battle at Wyrmrest! There was a huge war, and I remember... I frowned as the image in front of me changed. Lightblade was standing in front of a group of people, yelling and gesturing with his hands fiercely.

"Damn you and your politics!" He said, unsheathing a sword. "Your politics would see this universe split in two! I challenge you, leaders of the races. I challenge the Shaimem and Tanen races as wholes! I will fight every single damn one of you until this conflict is resolved! The Tanen and Shaimem will not fight against each other. The Tanen and Shaimem will fight against Bright Horizon - and they will not win! So go on, keep arguing! Lay siege to one another! Weaken each other's planets until there is nothing protecting you selfish bastards! Because as soon as I get the chance, I will throw you out of power. So either call off this war or face me. I am Lightblade, and I hereby declare war upon the Shaimem and Tanen races!"

After a few moments, I remembered exactly what was happening. Lightblade was speaking to the Tanen queen, and the Shaimem High Council. The two races were about to go to war over a broken artifact. That's what happened on Wyrmrest! And I was there!

Then, I nearly choked when I saw Lightblade. He couldn't have been more than thirteen, maybe fourteen years old. And here he was challenging two different governments.
