Mika and I spent most of the day together. Something was different between us, and I felt like it was a good thing. I'm pretty sure she felt the same way.
"So when are we heading to the stadium tomorrow?" I asked. The two of us were sitting in the lobby on the second floor of the mansion. The windows gave us a nice view of the city.
She glanced at me, "Actually, we're supposed to head over there tonight to start setting up."
"Just us?" I frowned.
The witch laughed, "No way, we're bringing a group of people. Setting the stadium up takes a lot longer than you think it does. It has to be cleaned, then we have to set up the lights and microphone systems-"
"Sounds like a lot of work." I sighed.
"It's worth it. We usually stay at the hotel about a block away from the stadium. I absolutely love that place. I love staying at hotels in general." She nudged me, "Have you ever been to a hotel?"
"Yeah, once." I grinned. "Anderson paid for me to stay ay one." I blew a sigh, "I burnt myself when I tried to use the...bath? What do you call a bath when the water drops from a silver thing on the ceiling?"
"It's called a shower." She started laughing.
I felt my face redden. "Right. I knew that."
"Sure you did." She kept laughing, "How did you manage to burn yourself?"
"I didn't know red meant hot!" I complained.
"What else would it mean?" Her face turned serious. "Akaya, what color is ice?""
"Blue. And white?"
"And ice is very...?" A slight smile was creeping into her features. Her eyes were laughing.
"Cold?" I frowned.
"What color is fire?" The smile was evident now, tugging at the sides of her mouth.
"Red?"
"And fire is very...?" She burst into a fresh fit of laughter.
"Oh..." I sighed, rubbing the back of my head.
"It's not hard to figure out." She said.
I heard the sound of someone walking towards us, and I turned towards the sound. Chynna was walking down the hallway, heading towards us. Vida was beside her, and JJ trailed a bit behind them. Zac and Kennedy were a few steps behind him.
"Oh great, what happened this time?" I sighed.
"Nothing, actually." Zach grinned. "Soro said that we should enjoy ourselves while we can."
"And obvious party place number one is here." JJ grinned, "Well, or down in the summoning room. But that pentagram always makes me nervous."
They all sat down in various places, a floating tray of food lowered itself onto the table in the center of the lobby. There was a brief moment of silence, then all at once everyone burst into chatter. Dreamcatcher and JJ's guild slime Luchy were playing on the table beside the food. Chynna and JJ were in a conversation about various video games, and a larger conversation about the concert was taking place. I don't know how long we all sat there and enjoyed ourselves, but it was a while. Vida put on music about halfway through so we had something to listen too.
"Akaya, I saw what you put together on that program." Vida said, smiling.
"Oh...you did?"
"Snowfall, right?"
I nodded. "That's what I titled the soundtrack."
"I think you'll like what Mika did with it. She changed it around a little, but it sounds amazing." The girl ran a hand through her blonde hair.
