Chapter 4: An Old Friend

Tsubaki's pov

Flashback...

"Come back here, Tsu!!! When I get my hands on you, it'll be your last time running from me." I giggled loudly at Howzer's comment and ran through the outside of the castle, trying to get away from him. I accidentally ticked him off when I commented on his hair and height, since he picked on Griamoire. I always stood up for him, since he was more on the timid side. Doing this only made Howzer chase me all the time, but then again this always happened during times like these. Just as I turned the corner, I spotted my favorite blonde and my best friend walking down the hall. "Meliodas, you're back!!!" I shouted, catching both Meliodas's and Gil's attention, I ran over to the two, smiling brightly at them both. I launched myself into Meliodas's arms, as he turned around to catch me. "Whoa there, Tsu..." Meliodas chuckled as he caught me, I wrapped my arms around him and buried my face into his neck making him laugh. He wrapped his arms around me, as he spun me around. "How's it going, Tsu?" He pulled back to see me as I beamed at him, his big green eyes made me smile even brighter. After knowing him for so long, I had gained a little crush on him. "Nothing much! How was your mission?" I asked, staring into his giant green eyes.

"It was okay. It went a little crazy but overall it was okay." I kept myself wrapped around him and wrapped my legs around him. "Did you get the thing I wanted?!!" Gil asked with excitement, his eyes were beaming with happiness and I only smiled brighter after seeing it. He looked at Meliodas with such happiness and admiration. "Yeah, come on.. I'll show ya where it is." Meliodas walked away with me still in his arms, as Gil followed happily behind him. Never had I seen Gil so happy to see Meliodas come back from his missions, I smiled down at Gil as I laid my head on Meliodas's neck. I liked seeing him happy like this, it was always nice to see how much he really admired Meliodas.

Flashback over....

I froze. That's all I could do in that moment, my eyes were probably bulging out of my head but I wasn't worried about that. It was the fact that Gilthunder had struck Meliodas down, I was so out of it that I couldn't hear Elizabeth shouting from behind me. I had a feeling that Meliodas was faking but that's not what got me so shaken up, it was seeing Gil's actions and words towards Meliodas as they fought. "Sir Meliodas!" I heard Elizabeth's voice and snapped out of my daze, as she rushed past me. I acted quickly and grabbed her hand before she could get any further towards them and pulled her back. She let out a little yelp of surprise as I pushed her behind me and stared at Gil, his eyes held shock to see what I was doing.

"What do you think you're doing with this traitor? I never expected something like this from you. I'm glad to see that you were alive all this time. I didn't know you made it out of that village. But, I will ask again.. Why are you with this traitor?" He narrowed his bright blue eyes at me, making me gape in shock as I stared at him. There was no way this was the same Gilthunder I grew up with, the one that I have been best friends with. I stared at him confused, not really understanding what he meant. When our eyes met, I got the feeling in the back of my mind that something wasn't right. I honestly didn't think this was the Gilthunder I grew up with, he wouldn't turn his back on the man he once looked up to as a child. Out the corner of my eye, a large hand came down and grabbed Gilthunder, before he could do anything to me. He tried to shock Diane with his lightning, but it didn't work and she chucked him out of the forest. I stood in silence and shock, watching as Diane chucked him out of the forest while Captain just stood there and waved.

I sighed and shook my head, as Meliodas turned towards Elizabeth, Diane and I. "Should we head to Baste Prison? I heard that's where Ban is." Meliodas stated and I stared him down, I couldn't tell if he knew that I was not happy with him. I had a feeling more things were seriously going to get complicated because of him. So we started heading towards Baste Prison, and Diane was able to keep up with Mama Hawk. I was excited to see Ban again although, I was upset with Meliodas for keeping Gilthunder's intent from me. I rode on Diane's shoulder while Elizabeth, Meliodas, and Hawk were inside the Boar Hat.
