"Long ago... Human kingdoms formed a peace treaty with the forest ruled by the Fairy King. Not only as a symbol of their alliance but also as an agreement not to interfere with each other. I had lost my memory around that time. I only remember being assaulted... And that man's face... Who was that man... And who am I? I've already forgotten." King narrated. He woke up to find himself in a small cave, which is where he and a young Diane lived at the time. "Harlequin!!" Diane called, startling King who turned around to find her holding a dead beast. "Aah! A monster!" King cried, "You surprised? Let's eat!" She smiled, she was currently holding some kind of beast she killed for food. "And I lived with the girl from the Giant Clan who saved me." King narrated. "Roasted and grilled pork! Eat a lot, 'Kay?" Diane offered King some food, but King didn't seem to find it as appetizing as she did. "I'll just have some fruit..." King refused, he didn't want to eat what she had killed and cooked. "Really? Then let's dig in!" Diane smiled and began eating the meat, while King ate a small bowl of fruit. The two were sitting around a fire in the cave, enjoying their meals with one another. "While you sleep, you dream of sleeping... You sure must love sleeping. So, do you remember anything?" Diane asked, "I saw a big tree in a mysterious place." King answered, "The place where you're from?" She tilted her head, "Perhaps.." King trailed off, "Here, meals for both of you, Fillet, roast." She put food in front of them the golems she made.

"I don't think you could make golems, Diane." King said, "I've heard that the Giant clan has a strong connection with the Earth.." He added.

"I was always alone. I think it's because I've always wanted friends that I was able to make them." Diane said, her facial expression showing sadness.

"I see.." King felt bad for Diane, he hadn't realized just how lonely Diane had been. "But they can't talk and only do what I tell them." She started again, "That's why I'm glad to have met you." She looked up at him, "Same here." King gave her a light smile, "I don't know what would have happened if you hadn't saved me." He added. "Then, then...! Will you be my friend someday?" Diane asked. "We're already friends." He smiled. "Really?!" Diane exclaimed, she hadn't expected him to say that. "I'll give you this. Because we're friends." She handed him her food but King again declined, "It tastes good. Just try some!" Diane insisted.

"I didn't have my memories, but that was a blissful time for me. That's probably why I was living so peacefully back then. While being oblivious to what was happening at the time...." King narrated.

One day in particular, King was flying around, looking for Diane as he didn't find her in the cave. He panicked when he couldn't find her, that is until he found her with a human. That only made him even more afraid for Diane's safety. "Harlequin...!" King heard his name being called and looked down, spotting Diane standing with a hunter. There was something about this human that King didn't like, he didn't trust him at all. He wasn't sure why he had such a strong disposition towards humans at the time, "Well, I'll be damned! A fairy child! Meeting a Giant girl is already rare in itself." The hunter exclaimed, King stayed away from him. "Diane, let's go." As they headed back towards the cave, Diane told King about how nice the Hunter had been to her. "That human shared his food with us?" King asked, "That's right. He said it's a soup of mountain birds, mushroom, and nuts. Here you go." She handed him a bowl of soup, "Diane..." He hesitated to eat the soup, "Hmm?" She asked, "You shouldn't trust humans so much." He stated, "Why not?" Diane couldn't understand why King seemed to mistrust humans so much, "Why, you say..." King mumbled, "Why can't we trust humans?" Diane asked. At that moment, King has a flashback of a conversation he had with his best friend, Helbram. The two had this same conversation on trusting humans, Helbram choosing to trust them while telling King that if he were to get into trouble because of humans, then he would get him out of it. When Diane falls sick, King is forced to leave the cave to find herbs for her. "Diane, stay with me!" He pleaded, "Can you hear me?" He asked, Diane laid sick and he was terrified of losing her. "Wait for me, I'll go get some herbs! Diane!" He called, he went to fly away but Diane pulled him back lightly by his shirt. "Don't... go.." Diane pleaded. "Don't... go... I'm so lonely. I don't want.. to be alone... Don't leave me alone!" She pleaded, tears pricking the corners of her eyes.
