Chapter 22: An Unannounced Guest!

Tsubaki's pov

"Tsu, wait!!" I ignored the others calling for me to return and immediately ran into the Tavern, wanting nothing more than to get away from Gowther. I knew that by Gowther bringing up all that stuff with King was horrible and he honestly has no manners when it comes to figuring out people's emotions. It makes me wonder how he even became the Sin of Lust, it doesn't make much sense. It made me curious as to how Gowther couldn't understand simple human emotions, wasn't he human, himself? If not, then what is he? I heard more yelling coming from outside and ignored it, deciding to lie in bed. I was not in the mood for celebrating after what had just happened, I wasn't even in the partying mood to begin with ever since I found out that Uncle Hendrickson and Dreyfus were in on this whole thing. Those two were the most trusted friends of my father, especially Dreyfus as he was the one who was the rational of the three. I laid down and stared up at the ceiling, trying to get out of my head but it wasn't working. "Tsubaki?" I heard Meliodas's voice through the door, I didn't answer which made him sigh. "I'm going to come in whether you want me to or not." Meliodas said, I shifted in bed and curled into a ball. I heard that door open and Meliodas's footsteps come over towards the bed, "Tsu," He sighed, "I know that the past few days have been easy on you, I don't even know what to say about Hendrickson's involvement other than I'm sorry that you had to find out something like this. Especially because you're still reeling from the fact that you just learned that your siblings are alive and somewhere out there." He spoke softly, I could tell from his tone that he was extremely concerned about my mental well-being at the moment. "I'm sorry that I let Gowther bring up your past when I know you hate talking about it. But don't hate him too much for it, you know he can't read social cues like you and I can." He sat down beside me, my back facing him. "M'yeah." Was all I said, "Tsu, I don't want you to stay up here and wallow. I don't want you to get too into your head, so come downstairs with me. We still have a lot to go over for our next move." Meliodas hopped off the bed, while I laid there for a moment. He left the room and not a minute later, I got up and headed downstairs. "Hey, Tsu." Ban greeted, "How are you feeling?" He asked as I took a seat at the table near Elizabeth, I still had this overwhelming feeling that I needed to stick by her side and I wasn't sure why I was still feeling like that.

"I'm okay."

"Hey, Mama Hawk. What exactly do you eat every day? Earthworms and moles? I don't understand you at all." I heard Diane ask, I smiled lightly and shook my head. "What are you doing?" Ban looked at Gowther, "A greeting that Captain showed me yesterday." Gowther responded, "I told you it's not a greeting!" Hawk replied, sounding annoyed. "So, where are we headin' now?" Ban looked at Meliodas, who was standing by the bar.

"Did you get a lead on one of our members or something?" King asked, "Escanor or Merlin..." He trailed off, I was curious of that as well.

"Nope." Meliodas said, "First, we're going to infiltrate Liones and get my sword back." I stiffened when he said that we were headed to the Capital, both of my siblings were there with Elizabeth's sister. "Sword? You mean that sword with a dragon handle that was stolen from you?" Ban questioned, "We can't let them hold onto that for too long. You'll come with me, right?" He asked, looking at Ban. I knew that there was a reason that he kept that sword protected, "Sounds like a chore, so I'll pass." Ban stated, "I'll go with you." I spoke up, "Thanks, Tsu. I knew I could count on you." Meliodas smiled at me, I only nodded in response. "It was Captain's fault that it was stolen in the first place..." King stated, making me roll my eyes at him.

"Take responsibility."

"Please comfort me." Meliodas turned to Elizabeth, "Oh. There, there..." She patted his back, I scoffed at Meliodas's reaction. "Captain!" Diane scolded, I doubt that Meliodas was going to stop flirting with Elizabeth anytime soon.
