Tsubaki's pov
With Diane and King finally arriving at The Boar Hat, Meliodas explained the current mission we were about to embark on. Both Diane and King were concerned when they heard about the mission involving ghosts, they seemed to remember the last one but neither one mentioned it. Ban let out a huff, crossing his arms as his bruises healed. He leaned against the counter, while I sat at a table away from the counter. Gilthunder, Griamoire, and Howzer all sat with me at the table, all of them intrigued by my attitude. I was not particularly happy about the whole thing and knowing how I reacted last time, I could only hope that things won't get weird. "Aww, come on, Tsu. Stop being so upset. I doubt that the town is haunted this time," Meliodas said, "Yeah, well, how would you know? There could actually be ghosts this time, Captain." I started, "Can't you guys just go and leave me here in the Capital? You can pick me up after you're done." I pleaded, giving Meliodas my best puppy dog eyes. Meliodas chuckled lightly in amusement, shaking his head."No can do, Tsu. This a job for all of us Sins present, so you have to go." Meliodas explained. I let out an annoyed groan and put my head on the table, pouting and feeling as if my heart was sinking. "Aw, c'mon, Tsu. Cheer up, it won't be that bad." Griamore patted my back lightly, but I just let out a groan and kept my head on the table. "How do you know that?" I whined, making Gilthunder and Griamoire chuckle lightly as they both patted my back. "Where exactly are we going?" Diane asked, "We're going to Kaynes Village," I shot up to my feet quickly, looking at Meliodas with wide eyes. "No way..." I looked at Elizabeth, who seemed like she was trying to figure out why the name seemed so familiar. "What is it, Tsu? Why do you look so shocked when he said the name of the village?" Gilthunder asked, looking up at me from his seat beside me. "That's where we ran into Elizabeth when she first came looking for the sins. We had set the Boar Hat just outside of the village and had a group of people in there when she came walking in armor. She scared off all of those idiots when she came in, they thought she was the Rust Knight." I explained, everyone looked at Elizabeth in shock and then looked back at Meliodas and me. "I remember hearing about Sir Twigo being in pursuit of someone in Kaynes Village. I'm guessing that he was after you two." Gilthunder looked at Meliodas and me, "Well, in a way, he was. He didn't really know who we were, he came because of the Rust Knight sighting. We took Elizabeth and ran, but he followed after us and then realized who we were." I explained, crossing my arms.
"So you two fought Twigo?" Griamoire looked at Meliodas and me.
"Well, yeah. Although, Captain was the one to put an end to Twigo before he killed all three of us after he learned about Elizabeth. He was ready to take her back to the Kingdom."
"Sounds like you two had your hands full with Twigo," Howzer said, "Yeah, we did."
"So how long is it going to take for us to get to Kaynes Village?" Diane asked, looking over at Meliodas.
"An hour or two tops. Once we get there, we need to head straight for the Village Chief. He's the one who personally asked for us to handle the situation." Meliodas stated, "And the actual situation is?" King quipped, raising his eyebrow as he leaned back on Chastifeol. "Weird things have been happening all over town, things suddenly floating in the air. Another big problem they are having is that some people have gone missing." Meliodas explained, shivers ran down my spine as I scooted closer to Gilthunder who was sitting directly next to me. "Did anything happen before these people went missing?" King asked, "No, they just suddenly disappeared. However, some reports indicated that the people who went missing had prior instances of being haunted by an unknown entity." I shifted in my seat, shaking my head as I thought about the ghost we could be dealing with. "An unknown entity?" Diane questioned, "Yeah, nobody knows what it looks like. It's up to us to figure out what happened to the people that went missing and where they are. We're going to have to directly deal with the ghost that has been openly terrorizing the community and see if that leads us to those who have disappeared." Meliodas stated, "How long have these people been missing?" Howzer asked, "Three weeks, this will be coming up on week four."
"Sounds like we have a lot of work cut out for us with finding these people." Diane sighed, "Listen up, we're going to be setting up shop right outside the village. I'm going to offer The Boar Hat as a safe haven for anyone who might be experiencing strange things in their homes. The Village Chief also has set up their local guild hall as a safe haven as well. So as hosts to those who need help, we're going to provide them with good ale and great food. If Ban is up for cooking some great meals for these people." Meliodas looked at Ban, who was back behind the counter.
"I guess I could do that."
"Tsu, you wouldn't mind helping me investigate the village, right?" Meliodas looked at me, "No way am I going into a village that's currently being haunted by ghosts! I'd rather stay here with Ban and make sure those who were being targeted stay safe." I argued, "Sorry, Tsu. No can do. You gotta come into the village with me."
"Why?!!!" I whined loudly.
"Because you are one of the best sins to help figure something like this out."
"Aren't Merlin and Gowther better suited for something like this?" I asked him, "Both of them are currently on another mission in a different part of the Kingdom. You are the next best detective other than them. Besides, you won't be alone. Most of us will be going into town while Elizabeth and Ban will stay here to watch after the Boar Hat." Meliodas explained, putting his hands in his pocket. "Ughhhhh," I put my head back on the table, letting out a frustrated sigh. "Look, going into the village won't be that bad. I heard that they like to celebrate Halloween with a huge festival in the village square. They sell all kinds of things there and have big dance performances and big feasts. We'll get to enjoy all of that once we solve the case of the disappearances of those people and figure out what the ghost is." I knew that there was no way out of this, I was just going to have to accept the fact that I had to face my fears.
