CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE
• LAST SATURDAY •

"how are you today?" tommy cups millies cheeks and inspects her, "you look tired, did you not sleep last night?"

she shrugs. truth was, ever since the events that occurred last week, she's been feeling more tired and has a lost of appetite as well.

that has never happened before. she was never tired and she loved to eat. well dinner, she loved to eat dinner and snacks.

"i'm fine though." she reassures him and walks off to layla and tony.

she wasn't fine. she'll never be fine.

"hey.." she kneels down in front of them on the play mats as they both hug her.

"where were you these few days!?" layla exclaims as she leans her forehead against hers.

"i was working on a few things." millie whispers.

"what things?" tony asks. "just things, buddy." she whispers and pulls them both close to her.

"i love you guys." she murmurs against their backs.

"i love you too!" tony laughs as layla wraps her legs around her waist, "upsie." layla smiles at her.

millie smiles back and picks her up.

"i want as well!" tony huffs as she leans down a bit and opens an arm for her, "you guys need to hold onto me very tightly so you don't fall."

they both nod as they hug onto her. millie smiles at them and takes them over to a beanbag to sit.

"what do you guys want to do?" she murmurs as they shrug and lay on her chest comfortably.

"i'm leaving soon guys, don't you want some fun time with me?" she chuckles sadly.

"leaving?" layla sits up, "where!? why!?" tony exclaims.

she smiles sadly, "i'm eighteen soon, babies." she whispers, "i leave when i'm eighteen."

"but your birthday is a few months later!" tony exclaims.

she sighs out, "my birthday is tomorrow." she tells them, "and i'm leaving tonight... to a far away land. i will leave you guys candy and all of the pillows you like."

"your birthday isn't tomorrow!" tony huffs loudly as millie shushes him and rubs his back, "i'm leaving, tony. i'll be far away."

"but why?" layla asks, her voice cracking, "will we get to see you again?"

"not for a long long time." she murmurs, "but it's okay because you guys will be fine and when you're older, you probably won't even remember me."

"we will remember you." layla smiles and pokes her cheek. millie giggles, "i will too."

"what about me?" tony asks.

"you too, baby." she kisses his forehead with a wide smile. "come on, let's take a little saturday afternoon nap." she pulls them closer towards her as they snuggle up against her.
