CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN
• IT WAS HER GOAL THIS WHOLE TIME •"hey silas." millie greets as he smiles towards her at the front of the school.
"hello, mio caro." he greets back as she leans against his car, "do you have the information?"
he nods and hands her some files, "i got it."
she opens the files slowly and sighs whilst tracing her finger over the photo in the corner.
"your mother and father are still in town here. they left to england around thirteen years ago and only returned a year ago. your father," he points to the picture on the right, "he's currently working in this high class company. your mother," he points to the photo on the left, "she works at a cafe/flower shop just fifteen minutes from here. that's the name of the shop, you can go find her."
she whispers quietly, "they look the same."
"you sure you want to do this?" he asks, "they might not even recognise you."
"they will recognise me." she shuts the files and places them by her hip, "they will."
"okay. be safe though, they might-"
"i will be fine. i just have a lot of questions for them." she says and kisses his cheek, "i'll see you soon."
she starts to head off as she sways the file on her side. it was a week ago when she decided to find her parents ago.
life is not going well and so... she made her dying wish come true.. with the help of silas and his gang of course.
the cafe actually wasn't far.
it was fifteen minutes from school and five from the orphanage. it makes her wonder if they ever decide to go back for her.
she looks up at the signs of all the shops and hopes she doesn't pass the shop she needed to go to.
she finally arrived and a sigh escapes her lips. she was scared, of course. she hasn't seen her mother in thirteen years.
would she want her back?
walking into the shop, the bell on top of the door rings angelically and then she searches around the store for the not so familiar face.
"hi! how may i help you today? would you like a cup of coffee or some flowers?" a woman walks up to her as she turns around.
"u-uh, i'm looking for-"
"mara, i can deal with this. you can go to the cashier." another woman cuts her off.
it was her.
the first woman smiles at millie and then heads off.
"so miss, what are you looking for?" she asks.
millie turns around slowly with her eyes shut for a second. her breath hitches when she opens her eyes and sees her. it was actually her.
"millie?" she breathes out.
millie smiles sadly, "hi mom."
