I saw three necklaces and bracelets that were the most beautiful ones I had ever seen in my entire life. They were almost as pretty as the dress. Almost but not quite. All of them had beautiful diamond studs that looked beautiful and were shining in the light. They were also of all different shapes and colours. They were so beautiful. I couldn't believe that something like these necklaces and bracelets and the dress could even exist.
"Do you like it?" Hanna asked. Her voice sounded like she was afraid I was going to slap her.
"Like it? I love it!" I said, or more likely shouted.
"Good. There are two from each of us but we bought them together. Okay, now take this dress and get ready." Hanna said.
"Another set of clothes?" I groaned.
"Yes, yes, we all know how you feel but don't think of this as another set of clothes. Think of it as your twelfth present." Hanna said.
"Thank god we have reached twelve now, or else I would have had a heart attack." I pressed a hand to my chest.
"If you did, I would kill you in your hospital room for having a heart attack on your birthday. Not that I wouldn't do the same thing if it were any other day." Hanna said.
"Yeah, you would kill her before she had a chance to become okay like you are now, finishing her birthday before she has a chance to really enjoy the most exciting part." Miranda said.
"Yeah, yeah, but you never know. Knowing her, she'll think that it's the most boring part." Hanna said, trying to force out a yawn but failing terribly.
"Okay enough, now goand take it, Alex." I didn't want to but I took it anyway and changed into them.
"What's the last present?" I asked, when they started to do a more simplified makeup and hairdo.
"It's a surprise." Hanna said.
"Oh come on, I've had enough of surprises for a month." I made sure to emphasize on the last word 'month'.
"On the bright side," Miranda said, "It's the last one."
"Ugh." They took a piece of black cloth and tied it around my eyes so that I couldn't see where they were taking me. I heard hushed voices in the background as they took me.
"Shh... she'll... know... quiet." said one voice who I later recognized as Hanna.
"Get... the car... quickly." Miranda said. I felt them make me sit in the car and knew that it was at the back. Of course, I realized, they won't let me sit in the front. They wouldn't trust about the cloth. They'd think that I would open it.
"Can I ask where we are going?" I asked.
"No." Hanna said.
