(^obviously, not the colour but this is the idea)

How are we all feeling since the last chapter?

For me, it was devasting to write. But you guys know a love story is not all about happy endings. There has to be good and bad for a relationship to grow.

Just to be clear to everyone here, there is more to come of my beloved Quirphy. Unfortunately, though, I am following the storyline so Murphy will be absent till the next book. I'm sorry!

Butttttt you guys should know, that there may be some unseen flashbacks between the pair that I have yet to show you!

Thanks again for the support :)

Chapter 39

Quinn's POV

Three hours. I gave myself a total of three hours to mope around feeling sorry for myself. Three hours where I could like my wounds and move on from the man who just shattered my heart. Or should I say, boy? Because for John be a man... he wouldn't have left me. Not like that, anyway.

Stupid of me to believe someone could love me again.

Still, despite the heartbreak, I'm glad it happened.

John was never going to commit to me. I knew it, and he knew it. We just spent the last couple of days playing happy families to avoid the obvious conclusion. It was all a fantasy. One, I wish could have happened with the only one who ever truly loved me.

Rory.

Flashback

"Come on," she said. "Just humour me. If you could picture your future, what would it look like?"

I rolled eyes at her for the billionth time before I sighed, "fine."

I thought real hard, staring up at the ceiling of Rory's room, before responding.

"I guess I will be married," I simply stated.

The game was dumb, and she knew how I felt about things like this, yet she still tried to get me to play. If only to distract me from the many problems my mind was fighting. Like how I was supposed to deal with the spawn of Bellamy Blake growing inside of me.

"Keep going," Rory encouraged.

This was all so pointless. Marriage was something I wanted. But I didn't just want to be married to anybody. I wanted to be married to HER.

"What's the point?" I sighed again. "We can't get the dream future where we end up together, so why even bother?"

Rory sat up and got off of the bed for a spilt second, where I watched her grab something from her drawers.

What was she doing?

When I had detected she was ready to return to bed, I sat up and let her take my hands.

"Close your eyes," she commanded.

"Why?"

"Quinn, just do it."

"Fine," I huffed before I felt her place a cold object in my hand.

"Open your eyes," Rory said.

I slowly opened the palm of my hand and let my eyes meet the silver band Rory placed.

WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING? IS THIS A PROPOSAL? I'M ONLY A TEEN, WHAT?
