Chapter 5

Kai's POV

None of this has been easy. Since losing Quinn, I've been responsible for making sure her child is safe and happy. That my niece knows she's loved by those around her. And if it weren't for Clarke, I don't think I would still be here. She's helped me in so many ways with Dawn that I'll forever be grateful for. She's just a terrific auntie. Quinn would be proud.

"She looks just like her," Raven smiles as we embrace after our reunion.

Yeah, Mount Weather was a pain in the ass, but I'm glad to be back with our people... even if there's no chocolate cake here.

"I know, it's crazy," I agree, recognising the familiarity in my sister's child. "I can't wait for my mom to meet her."

Raven's face saddens and I immediately wonder why. However before I can ask, the sound of people returning to camp shifts my focus away.

"Open the gates!" I hear someone command.

"Open the gates!"

It takes a minute, but eventually they open and four make it through. Four familiars.

"Bellamy," Clarke mutters, not quite believing to see him there.

She then excuses herself and sprints over before hugging Bellamy tight. I follow after with the baby in my arms, knowing he'll want to see his daughter. I may not like him, but just knowing someone is alive, makes me feel lighter.

I spot Bellamy's sister, Octavia, standing by his side, watching her brother be consumed by Clarke. She's just as shocked as I am.

"Now there's something I thought I'd never see," she smiles.

Moving on to Octavia, Clarke gives her a hug before turning back to Bellamy.

"How many are with you?" Bellamy asks, hopeful we have the others, and not spotting me yet.

"Only two others are with me," she tells him. "Kai and..."

His eyes meet mine before Clarke can finish, causing her to step aside, and allow his eyes to wander down to the newborn in my arms.

He steps forward, opening his mouth to say something, though nothing comes. I keep heading towards him, noticing his eyes are starting to water.

"Dawn," he whispers as I place the child in his arms, allowing the connection between father and daughter to grow so more.

Octavia makes her way over to them, smiling hard as she looks over our niece, and I'll admit a tear falls down my cheek. Bellamy's finger is handed to his child as she holds it tight, almost like she remembers exactly who he is.

"I can't believe you're here." His eyes remain watery. "You're safe, LB. I won't let anything happen to you."

He takes his eyes away and meets mine. "Thank you," he breathes out. "Thank you for keeping my little girl safe."

"I'd do anything for my niece," I state, finally revealing the truth about my identity.

"She's- she's your niece?" Had a feeling Quinn didn't tell him.

"Yeah, she is."

He gives Dawn to Octavia for a second before pulling me into a hug.

Because of our history, this hug feels odd.

"I'm so glad Dawn has someone like you looking out for her," he tells me before pulling away.

"I wouldn't be here if it weren't for Clarke," I say. "She helped get Dawn and I out. She's the real hero."

"Thank you," he repeats. "Both of you."

I watch him take his daughter back into his arms again, when Clarke asks the question I've been wondering myself.

"Where are they?" Clarke asks. "Where are Finn and Quinn?"

His face drops. "They're both looking for you guys."

I hope they're okay...

Quinn's POV

"I count twenty-six," Finn states, looking through the spyglass as we remain in a crouching position, watching over a grounder village.

"I got twenty-eight," John says, lowering his gun. "These people don't look like warriors, Finn. There's kids, old people. There's nothing big enough here to hold our friends."

"I hate to admit it, but he's right," I sigh when I side with John. "They're not here. They can't be.

"They could be underground."

"Finn-"

"Do you want to find Dawn or not?"

His question reminds me why I'm here, silencing my further protests.

"We wait till dark," he decides. "Then we go in."

The fuck?

"We go in?" John asks, clearly just as shocked as I am. "Finn, we don't even know if our people are here."

"They're here," he says. "Or they were when that grounder took Clarke's watch."

"What if we're too late, huh?"

He better shut it.

"They're probably already dead."

That's it!

Angrily, I go to attack him, but Finn holds me back.

"Take it easy," John tells me.

"Let me go!" I demand.

"If you don't stop talking shit, Murphy, I'll let her kill you for real."

I stop my fight as John nods, acknowledging that I may be capable of doing exactly that.

When I take my position back, Finn turns to us. "How much ammo do we have?"

John sighs. "You know, I think I liked you better as a peace maker."

Same. I miss the old Finn.

Billie's POV

"I'm coming for you, sister," I mutter, limping along throughout the woods. "Wherever you are, I will find you..."

Okay, so that was a bit chaotic with three different points of view, but I hope you liked it anyways.
More soon :)
