maternal instincts

"do you think we made a baby?" beck panted as he threw an arm around jades naked torso.

"oh please. we made two babies with a condom and some very faulty birth control, i have no doubt that this time worked without those things." she breathed out, wiping a sweaty piece of hair out her face to turn and smile at him.

"it feels like yesterday when we were just teenagers, i was knocked up and you were having a panic attack anytime the word 'baby' was mentioned" she teased him, sprawling her body across the bed and kicking him over to his own side.

sex was one thing, but personal space was another.

"ya, who would've thought that almost 4 and a half years later we would be trying to have a kid" he added on and she nodded, tracing through the patterns on the ceiling of their bedroom with her eyes.

"trying and succeeding" she leaned over and began to place soft kisses down his chest.

"don't get ahead of yourself" he teased, feeling a familiar buzz inside his stomach that her kisses always seemed to incite.

"are we seeing cat and robbie tomorrow?" she lifted her head, having let her mind wander.

"yeah i told them we'd meet them at the park at 10, why?" he cocked an eyebrow and she threw her head back and groaned loudly.

"cant we just stay here all night and all morning and then all time after that?" she whined as he grabbed her hands and pulled her back into his chest.

"so stay here forever?" he clarified and she nodded.

"sorry babygirl we told them we'd be there. and lo and nini have been dying to go to the park, they've turned everything in the house into a jungle gym" he smiled at the memory of logan earlier that day who had tried to climb his leg.

jade groaned, hiding under the covers of the bed and glancing at the clock.

"is it already 11:30? god when the kids go to bed at 7 i get tired so early" she moaned face first in her pillow as her vision started to blur and she got into a comfortable position.

beck let his eyes flutter close but he was much too anxious to sleep. there was only one thing on his mind.

he had started dating her when they were just 16 years old, and when she fell pregnant at 20 with logan, their lives had been turned upside down. of course he loved her, there had never been any doubt about that, but it was suddenly so real. they were really together.

but there was only one problem.

they had rushed into the family so quick after logan, things were always happening, things were always going on, he never had any time to do what he had been wanting to do for almost 10 years now,

he should've done it when she told him she was pregnant the first time. but he was scared, and there was so much happening then. and then he tried again when she was pregnant with nina but that had been such a tough pregnancy for jade that he didn't want to put more things on her to-do list.

but now the time was perfect. they had talked about marriage countless times before and they both just wanted to go to the courthouse and get it done. but he wasn't a complete asshole, he did have some tradition drilled into him. so he was going to propose and then as soon as possible they were going to go down to the courthouse and make it official.

she was finally going to be an oliver. or stay with west. whatever she wanted. they hadn't really talked about that before.

all the kids had becks last name on their birth certificates because they just thought they would save time with it. they always knew they would be married some day but it had just been put off for so long now that it was kind of the last thing on their minds.
