she'd never been more scared then she was right now.
not scared for herself, not in the slightest. but scared for the child she had inside of her.
waking up in the middle of the night with stabbing pains in her stomach had been scary enough, but being rushed to the hospital and immediately tested on by a million different doctors was a whole other level of petrifying.
she knew it wasn't going to be an easy birth, in fact her doctor had warned her when she became pregnant again that it was very likely going to be tough. it hadn't seemed like a big deal throughout the whole pregnancy, but now, at almost 9 months pregnant, with unexplainable pains putting her in the hospital, it was definitely a big deal.
"it's gonna be ok baby i swear"
she just kept hearing becks voice echoed into a tunnel of darkness. she was barely conscious, and was trying to remember anything besides his voice. and then it all came rushing back, the pains, waking up beck, being driven to the hospital, bleeding all over the car, passing out, waking up again, the needles, the pain. but above all she could hear him telling her over and over again that it was going to be okay.
how could he say that? he didn't know.
"she's coming around" she heard a voice say softly as her vision cleared out and she squinted in the bright lights of a hospital room.
"hey babygirl" beck whispered softly, suddenly sitting next to her on the hospital bed and brushing her hair back out of her face.
"you feel okay jade?" the doctor asked and jade was suddenly overwhelmed with an awful stabbing pain in her stomach, but it was different than the one earlier.
"god" she groaned out, squeezing her eyes shut.
she glanced down at her exposed stomach and that was her last straw. her stomach was noticeably flatter than it had been earlier. the baby wasn't in there anymore. she just knew it.
"oh my god, did they? did i? oh no oh fuck" she began to take sharp intakes of breath and beck took a steadying breath.
"she's fine jade" he smiled proudly at her but her expression turned to confusion.
"we were forced to perform a sleep induced c-section while you were asleep. baby oliver is just being weighed and cleaned up in the next room to give the parents here a second to regroup, but i'll bring her in as soon as you're ready." the doctor smiled comfortingly at jade and she turned to look at beck.
"she?" her look turned to a beaming smile and suddenly beck was smiling too.
"7 pounds 2 ounces" he beamed, tears threatening yo fall from his eyes because of how close he'd been to loosing two of the most important things in his life.
"we're ready to see her" jade told the nurse with a smile and she nodded, heading to grab their newborn.
"i'm so sorry" jade buried her face into becks shoulder as she began to cry uncontrollably and he rubbed her back.
"hey this isn't your fault. it's no one's fault, these things happen. you don't have a damn thing yo be sorry about, if anything i am grateful you're still here jade." he told her, making her pull back to look him in the eyes as she nodded tearily.
"but you did give everyone quite the scare" he tried to laugh lightly but it ended up coming out breathily.
"my parents are outside, along with tori, andre, clara, cat, robbie, keira, and lo and nini, oh and your dad called, he's on business but sends his best and got a plane to come home as soon as he heard the news." he listed off, making sure to forget no one.
