"mama i don't wanna get sick" logan whimpered, clinging onto jades leg as she dragged him through the kitchen.

"you're not gonna get sick lo" she sighed, trying hard not to roll her eyes.

nina had gone to sleep for the night after jade had deep cleaned practically her entire room. and of course logan had figured out what happened and had been in a constant state of stress that he was going to throw up.

"mama" he whimpered as she placed him onto a kitchen chair.

"do you feel sick lo?" she asked, even though this was about the sixth time she had tried and he had shook his head no. she ushered him to the bathroom to brush his teeth and then tucked him under his covers.

"when'll daddy be back?" logan mumbled, his eyes already closing as jade rubbed through his hair with her fingers.

"two days bubba" she said softly, kissing the side of his head and getting up to go to her room.

the bed she shared with beck felt uncharacteristically cold and empty these past few nights, and she wanted nothing more than to fall asleep in his arms tonight. she laid back against the pillow, drowning out her thoughts with the sound of the television.

after laying there in her pajamas for what felt like forever, she sighed, picking up her phone and debating texting becks number. it was late at this point, and she didn't want to wake him but all other things she had tried had failed, and she really just needed to talk to him at this point.

she put down her phone, sighing and becoming pleasantly surprised when it buzzed on her night stand.

she smiled goofily, typing back as fast as her fingers could go.

i miss you, can't sleep :(

she repositioned herself on the bed, turning onto her side and watching the typing icon move around on the screen, waiting for a response.

she practically beamed at that, pushing a stray hair out of her face and biting her bottom lip as she thought of a response.

she hesitated for a second before sending it, debating how late she really wanted to be up if she started something like this.
