Alexandria really wanted to get this baby out of her. She was past her due date and she was not only stressed, but she was annoyed. She was ready to get this baby out of her.
She was laying down in the bed and she started crying. It was 3 o’clock in the morning and Joshua woke up to the sound of her crying.
“Baby what’s wrong?”
“I’m ready to have the baby.”
He sighed. He knew how much she was tired of being pregnant.
“I know, but just hang in there. Okay?”
“Okay.”
She hugged him and layed down next to him while he was still hugging her.
The Next Day
It killed Joshua to see Alexandria like this, he thought pregnancy was a good thing. He didn’t want her to be miserable.
So to make her feel better, he was going to take her to the movies and the mall.
After they took a shower, they left for the movies.
They decided to see Big Hero 6 because she was in the mood for a cartoon.
He bought her popcorn, candy, and soda.
After the movie was finished, they went to the mall.
People were staring at them and Alexandria began to grow uncomfortable.
“Joshua can we leave?”
“Why?”
“Because people are staring at us.”
“So. Who cares?”
“I do.”
“Well you shouldn’t. I’m your husband and I’m proud to show my beautiful black queen off.”
Then he kissed her in front of the whole mall.
After he pulled away, she said, “Thank you for saying that.”
“You’re welcome.”
They spent all afternoon looking at clothes mostly for her because he hates shopping for himself.
He bought her so much lingerie even though she protested.
Once they got home, she started feeling a pain in her stomach then she felt a wet spot on her legs.
Her water broke.
She called Joshua in the living room and he asked her what’s wrong.
“My water just broke. Can you go get the bag so we can go?”
“Yeah.”
He ran to the back, got her back, and rushed her to the car because her contractions were getting worse.
Once he got her to the hospital, the nurses put her in a wheelchair and wheeled her to a room.
She wanted the epidural as soon as she was put on the bed.
“Miss you have to wait until your dialated 10 centimeters.”
“Thank you nurse,” Joshua said.
Alexandria was in so much pain.
“Joshua. I’m in pain.”
“Baby I know, okay? Don’t cry.”
3 hours later…
“How many centimeters am I dialated?”
“Only 6.” The nurse felt bad for Alexandria so she went to go talk to the doctor and they gave her the epidural.
