Jonah's POV:
My butler carried my suitcases to the carriage and Cameron put them inside. My mother and Trojan came outside to say goodbye. My father was probably still angry with Trojan and Dimitri... who knows where he is.
"Son take care please." My mother said taking my hands in hers.
"Yes mother." I said slightly annoyed at how worried she was.
She sensed the tone and let out a small chuckle.
Trojan gave me a sad sort of smile. "Be careful out there."
I nodded. "Are you going to cry like mom now?"
He rolled his eyes. "I can't worry about you now?"
I shrugged. "I'll be fine."
"Alright. Go then." He said patting my shoulder. "If you encounter any of the soldiers from King Santiago's kill them because if not they'll kill you first."
As if I didn't already know this. I ignored him and got into the carriage with Landon. "Goodbye Your Majesties." Landon said waving.
Trojan waved back and so did my mother. "Goodbye to you too Landon." She leaned in and kissed my cheek and then we were off. I shut the curtains and rested my head back against the wall of the carriage. It started going really fast Landon and I thought we'd fall right out.
Landon chuckled and opened the curtains that faced Cameron. "I'm starting to think you want to kill us Cam!" He shouted at him.
Cameron's blonde ponytail swung in the wind. He apologized and slowed us down.
Landon shut the curtains again and gave me a look saying he was annoyed at Cameron. He's never liked Cameron, neither have I but he's my driver so we'll have to put up with him for now.
***
A couple of hours passed and Landon had fallen asleep in front of me. His red hair was tied at the nape of his neck and he had his head back with his lips slightly parted. A light snore came from him. We continued our trip smoothly and I look out to see a forest.A forest?
I didn't know we were supposed to be traveling through a forest. I leaned forward and since Landon was in the way of the curtains I shook him awake. "Huh?" He said looking disoriented.
I opened the curtains and Cameron wasn't alone anymore. I shushed Landon before he could say anything.
"Just go this way, they're waiting." The man told Cameron. He pointed to the right and now I was sure we weren't going in the right direction. The man was somewhat young and he had short spiky blonde hair and caramel skin. His eyes were blue and something in them shook me to my core.
I gripped my dagger and glanced at Landon who seemed to be thinking the same as I was.
Something wasn't right.
Then our carriage hit something hard and our horses yelped. We got thrown off our seats and hit our heads on the roof. Landon rubbed his head but I held a finger to my lips.
I now held my dagger behind me in my fist and waited. We heard footsteps and then the doors swung open and we were surrounded. On both sides, there were at least 5 soldiers.
At the front of it was Cameron. Nothing on his face showed shame or sympathy just satisfaction.
Landon playfully smirked as he hopped off the carriage with his hands up. "Come on guys I think we could all be civil and don't have to resort to violence." He said.
I followed suit and hopped off the carriage on the other side lifting my hands in the air too. "I'm the prince you'll be in big trouble if you hurt me."
