Anastasia's POV:
"Mom."I pulled out my mother's photo and stared at it. She was much prettier than I ever will be. But we do look alike.
We have the same black hair, thin nose and pale skin. However she had deep green eyes and was curvier. I got my brown eyes from my father.
But I as I stared into the photo I wished she were here with me. She'd tell me to fight, I know she would. She'd tell me to fight for my friends, for my family and for the people I love.
She'd give me strength. Strength I need right now because as I strapped on my fighting leathers I was growing more and more anxious.

I stood on a hill away from the fighting. Landon stood behind me because he's my current bodyguard which is the term they used but my term for it is babysitter.Serena stood beside him looking scared and my grandmother plus the other villagers who couldn't leave are here too.
I watched trying to find Jonah in the sea of bodies but it was practically impossible. King Santiago's army was wearing all black, they looked terrifying like demons coming for us. Our armies are each wearing their color. Jonah's kingdom wore navy blue.
I spotted him at last and he fought expertly back to back his brother Dimitri. For two people who don't get along they're very coordinated. It was like a dance. They knew where the other was the entire time and they moved in sync. They killed and killed with no mercy.
I was on the edge of my seat waiting and watching. I didn't want to look away in case he died and it would be the last time I ever saw him.
No he wasn't going to die.
I saw King Nicholas on his horse ahead of them throwing spears with flawless aim.
I grabbed my bow and arrow choosing to do something. Landon was at my side but I ignored him as I laid belly down on the grass. From my hill I was elevated and saw everything. I kept my eyes on Jonah and as he fought with his sword another soldier snuck up behind him.
I didn't hesitate to send my arrow and it shot the man in the back. I kept doing that guarding his back as best I could. A few times I did the same for his brother who glanced at me and nodded in a silent thank you.
"Be careful Anastasia." Landon warned.
I ignored him and continued shooting my arrows.
Then suddenly a sword was flying through the air and I ducked out of the way. It landed behind me on a tree. I look down and see no one but I turn and see a soldier running to us.
Landon got ready and they fought. I didn't know what to do. Sace Landon or keep my eyes on Jonah and protect him.
I gulped and glanced from Landon who was up against the tree and pushing the soldier and Jonah who was fighting.
I sighed and turned my attention to Landon but when I did. Serena beat me to it and grabbed a dagger that was on the ground. She sneakily went behind the soldier and stabbed his neck. The soldier gasped and fell to the ground.
Landon hugged her and she cried. I glanced down at the soldier dying slowly at our feet. I removed the knife so he'd bleed out and I turned back to Jonah.
In a blink of an eye his father was down and he kneeled beside him. I shot another arrow and the soldier that killed his father went down.
Shit, shit shit.
I should've turned to Jonah. I could've saved his father. It's all my fault.
"I have to go down there."
Landon grabbed my arm shaking his head. "I'm under strict orders not to let you go down there." He sighed. "For once just listen to Jonah please."
I nodded noticing the seriousness in his tone. I stayed and watched as Jonah stood over his dead father and I watched as he released his anger and power on these people. He went on a rampage. His goal...
King Santiago's head.
