Jonah's POV:
"Father! Mother!" Serena called out to her parents as soon as we stepped foot into the palace.

King Ian looked like he was on the verge of tears. Serena ran to them with a big smile on her face. Her mother stood next to her father and a low sob escaped her.

The 3 of us stood close behind watching. I glanced at Anastasia who had a small smile on her lips and she held her injured hand with her other hand. She hadn't complained about it yet or even mentioned it but if she doesn't get it fixed her hand will be messed up forever. Her hands had been getting worse and worse and I knew it probably wasn't the right time but I didn't care.

"Your Majesties. My friend Anastasia needs one of your best healers now." I said.

King Ian walked over to us and Anastasia showed him her hand. He nodded and motioned for one of his maids to take her to the medical wing.

I insisted on going with her but she said no. "I don't trust these healers I would've taken you to mine but you need your hand healed now... I must go with you." I told her.

She rolled her eyes. "Please stay here Jonah. You need to talk to the kings and arrange everything... the people need you more than I do." She said. "And I'll be fine. Just come when you're done, it's okay."

I watched as she rounded the corner and she turned her head and glanced at me. The light caught her brown eyes making them turn into pools of caramel, her hair was a bit sandy and her clothes were dirty but she looked gorgeous.

It took everything in me not to go to her right now.

I remembered her regret on the beach and my hands turned into fists at my sides. I hated this feeling. That it all may be one-sided. I know that I'm not the only one feeling these things but for whatever reason she doesn't let me in.

Why'd she reject me?

I turned back to King Ian and we walked to the meeting room where I saw the other kings were as well.

After a bit of talking King Ian agreed to ally with our kingdom hence making all of the kingdoms unite. I shook hands with everyone and they all stayed for dinner however I wanted to visit Anastasia in the medical wing.

***
The next morning I was looking for Anastasia since I didn't see her last night in the medical wing, they had told me she went to her bedroom to sleep so I didn't disturb her. But today I had to see her.

I followed the voices of a few women as I walked down the hallway. I heard a laugh and I smiled to myself knowing it was her.

I turn the corner and stop to see all of the women eating breakfast and drinking tea together. Serena sat next to her mother and on the other side of her mother was Queen Elaine and next to her with a bright smile on her face was Anastasia.

She looked regal and beautiful. Her black hair was flowing freely and she wore a baby blue gown and white gloves. Well only on her right hand because her left was bandaged. She seemed to be hiding it underneath the table as if people shouldn't see it.

I rolled my eyes at the thought.

People should know her bravery and loyalty to her world. What she's gone through to protect her people. I admire her, she's better than any soldier or any of these snobby royals.

She was talking and laughing and she looked like a queen.

She looked so happy and like she was finally at home in her skin. For the first time ever I even saw Queen Elaine laugh at something she said.

I didn't want to bother her so I didn't walk into the room. I just wanted to check on her to see if she's okay and she is. I didn't want to interrupt her conversation with the others.
