Jonah's POV:
I heard a thunk behind me and I turned to see my father gasping for air as I dagger was in his chest. I kneeled down. "Father."He had a pained expression and I never thought the day would come where I'd watch my father die right in front of me.
"Jonah. Don't stop." He groaned. "I will die and you will be king. You need to be strong for your mother, your brothers and your people... you will... make... a great... king." He said and his eyes fluttered closed.
Fuck!
I knew he'd want me to be strong and win this war so I would. For him.
I stood and saw the man who killed him died with an arrow through him. Pride rushed through me.
She's protecting me.
I didn't dwell on it as I continued killing my way to the king. I wasn't letting him get away with this. He will die and it will be by my hand.
My anger and strength went into each kill and each one fueled my motivation. I never let myself sink into the darkest part of myself but right now I was basking in it.
"I always wanted to kill a king. Now I'll get to, right?" A soldier asked me as he punched me across the face.
"Wrong." I turned and kicked his side making him fall to the ground. I'd make his death longer and more painful but I don't have time. I grabbed his sword and in one quick slice separated his head from his body.

I reached the end of the field and the opposing army's war tents. Somewhere in here King Santiago is waiting.Waiting for his death.
I carefully searched each one not wanting to get caught by anyone. Then at the end of the field I saw a tent that was guarded.
He must be there.
A figure appeared behind me.
Dimitri.
"I'll kill them and you go inside and get the king." He said.
I nodded. "You sure? We could try taking the guards together..." I asked.
He shook his head. "No just do as I say." He said and walked out of our corner.
The guards straightened and got into their fighting positions once they saw him. But only I saw the slight smirk Dimitri had. He knew he was going to kill them and enjoy it.
I snuck past and got into the tent as I heard them start to fight.
I walked carefully around the tent.
Where is this man?
"Right here." He said reading my mind.
I turned immediately.
He lifted his hands innocently. "I'm aware you have something of mine..."
"What?"
"Anastasia. Perhaps we could strike a deal... I'll have my armies leave in exchange for her."
"No," I said. Not a chance.
"Alright. Well, let me give you a little story. So you know exactly the kind of woman you have in your bed."
I stayed on guard as he started his story. I didn't believe a single word he said but I was buying time so I could find a way to kill him.
"For one I've always wanted Anastasia for me. As my wife and bearer of my children. My last wife wasn't as... captivating. She was in my palace and I could tell you she gave me a night to remember." He smirked at my anger. "Her parents were important people in my court but they were traitors hence the debt. She ran away at 13 and took down many of my soldiers with injuries they will never recover from... careful there Jonah she's a dangerous one. Maybe now you see who you're with."
