Jonah's POV:
"Do you guys like my scrambled eggs?" Maddox asked. He took it upon himself to cook us all breakfast.I woke up this morning slightly upset. Anastasia left before I woke and I haven't seen her all morning. After last night I thought that was that. We'd stay together, I guess maybe none of it mattered to her as much as it did for me.
"It's missing a little salt." Dimitri said.
"Fine then I'll eat it, looks like you no longer have food." Maddox said rolling his eyes and taking Dimitri's plate away.
Dimitri scoffed and left annoyed. Probably still hungry.
Trojan had already finished his and turned to me. "You gonna eat your tots?" He asked in a strange tone.
I pushed my plate to him and he started eating my plate too.
"Tots?" Robin asked.
"It's from the movie Napoleon Dynamite..."
We all looked confused. "Forget it." He said continuing to eat.
Robin laughed and shook her head. She was drinking a fruit smoothie since she's allergic to eggs.
"Where's your friend Anastasia?" Maddox asked me.
I shrugged.
"I made extra food. Mom and you guys already ate. I guess I'll offer some to the others but I guess if Dimitri was right then I'll save myself the embarrassment." He said unsure.
He always second-guessed his food.
"Don't worry Maddox it's really good," I said.
He nodded. "Alright, then I'll go offer some to them."
He walked out of the kitchen leaving Trojan, Robin, and I.
The door to the kitchen opened and Anastasia walked in. She looked up and stopped. "Oh sorry I hope I'm not interrupting."
I shook my head. "No stay," I said pulling out a chair beside me.
She looked hesitant and I saw her glance at Robin. She shook her head. "Sorry, I only came for food. I won't be staying." She scurried out and I wanted to chase after her if it wasn't for Trojan grabbing my arm.
"Don't go after her right now. Just talk to her before your coronation later."
I looked behind me still contemplating going after her but I sat down and drank my tea.
Nerves about the coronation kicked in instead.
***
My stomach was in knots and I wanted to run away. But everyone was here today. For me. For my coronation. Now I will officially be king.I straightened my jacket and my mother approached me. "I remember the day your father was to be crowned king. He was also very nervous." She said with a small tight-lipped smile.
I didn't answer. I was too nervous, I didn't trust my voice.
I wish Anastasia were here. She'd know what to say.
She nodded as if understanding. "Good luck son." She said kissing my cheek.
The soldiers opened the doors for me and everyone's eyes were on me. I confidently walked down the aisle the light music in the background.
I caught the eyes of Anastasia and she was breathtaking. She wore a deep violet gown with gold designs down the middle and her long hair was down. She wore a small sparkly diadem in her hair and she smiled at me.
