*Note: Soon I will have to stop listening to Fake News to keep the magic. This is an alternate universe story about a rich patron visiting a club to watch a club singer performing.

Another Story, Again 04

The Sun

Pon barged into my just as I was trying to put on my bow tie.

"Yo, you ready bro?" I turned to him, looking suave and handsome as usual in his custom made tailored suit and then turned back to the full length mirror reflecting, me. Thick glasses. Awkwardly gelled hair highlighting my huge forehead. Mom insisted our stylist to set it this way. My expensive tailor made suit only helped highlighted my pot belly. The thick makeup caking my face in attempt to cover my active acne and fading pimple scars made me felt most uncomfortable.

"Ready...," I answered most unenthused. Not to mention I kept feeling something is stuck in between my braces. Pon came over to checked me out, "Wow, handsome,"

I huffed, dismissing him.

"What? It's a compliment," Compliment, my ass. Anyone who knew Pon enough is him complimenting anything genuinely. "Your mom asked me to get you. The VIPs' arrived and they need to start the opening ceremony so get your butt down there. Wow, your hair's so stiff damn it," Pon tried to play around with my hair but I wouldn't let him. I tighten up my tie the best I could. I hate ties. I hate tying things around my neck. It makes it hard for me to breath sometimes. I am not sure if I meant the tie or the meaning behind having to tie the tie around my neck.

I followed Pon out of my room heading to the stairs leading to center hall. I could already hear the lively chatters coming from below.

"Oh, there he is, our Kin, come down quickly dear," I heard my mother's energetic voice calling out as I approached the stairs. My mother, dressed elegantly in her evening gown smiled as she waved for me to go down. Around her, enough number of her and father's acquaintances. Their eyes on me. I swallowed as Pon gave me a pat in the back to remind me to move. I took my first descend. Every step felt really heavy and my new leather shoes biting into my feet didn't help either.

Just as I thought I will succeed landing on the last step, alas, I miscalculated and tripped slightly, balanced by Pon who was right behind.

"My my, what a handsome young man," a woman with pretty thick make-up said as I approached nearer and my mother gripped my arm. I gave my wai greetings as calm as I could. I wish I could run away there and then.

"And smart looking too. Must be as smart as older brothers Mike and Win right? Which university do you go to?" This is one of the common question I got asked. I answered as politely and short as I could.

"Oh, that would be the alma mater for the A. family heirs. You sure have smart sons. You must be so proud of yourself young man, getting into the prestigious school. Soon, you will do great things like your brothers and father," Another person said.

Right.

Great things like my brothers and father. Praises. Expectations.

"Definitely. I just heard how Mike just won the biggest development project from the government and I heard from my contacts, Win is doing so well managing A group's new line of startup projects. Even Master A. himself is busy with overseas development. I wonder if the youngest son of the A. family has started helping out in the company?" this person's attention was all focused on me. I felt my throat dry and was about to answer when my mother stopped the conversation to usher us all out to our huge garden party.
