Tw. Psych ward, overdose
Sage

Almost three weeks had passed since what had happened with Rory in the canteen. I didn't see him for a few days after that, and got on with my own things like starting school work, and getting a routine.

Dr Fahri had put me on medication too, which sucked at first, but once I was getting used to it, it was okay. It made me feel really shitty, and hopeless, but now things were getting a little bit better.

And I had spoken a lot with Mark, and Dr Fahri- they felt I could go home in a few days if I carried on as an outpatient.

Calum already had my room plan, so I was hoping to get home and have decorations up, but I was mainly excited to see Rider everyday.

When I got home, I would get my cast off, I would start school, and I was determined to push myself out of my comfort zone so that I could feel that Calum and Gia were family, the same way Rider felt it.

"Hey, wanna play a board game?"

"Yeah,"

"Great, otherwise I would've dragged you there,"

Rory was on medication too, now. Now he was a little bit more like me, and it was easier to talk to him because I could predict the conversation a lot more. I definitely considered him a close friend now.

We sat down and he grabbed monopoly, which attracted a couple of other people to come and play. I had spoken to a few people, but merely knew their names- still, they were welcome to play.

Monopoly definitely wasn't one of my skills, and I lost, but I didn't mind. Rory won- his competitiveness would never fade- but his glory was cut short by the staff telling us we should go and have lunch.

Rory and I went back to our rooms, picking up Holly and Mark on the way, then we both got bowls of soup and sat in our usual spot.

"I hear you're leaving me here all alone on Saturday,"

"I'll visit, Calum already said I can visit,"

"Don't focus on me, you get to have a fresh start, don't dwell on the past,"

"But you're my friend,"

"But you'll make new friends. Don't worry, I am used to being left behind,"

"Well I am visiting, because I like spending time with you,"

He looked up and smiled, the biggest smile I had seen on him for weeks, and then blushed.

"Okay, but at least take a week or two for yourself. It's hard going home,"

"I've moved around so much lately that I think going back home to a familiar place will be good,"

"No waffles," he sighed, "Maybe you could take some home,"

"I will learn how to make waffles, and then when you get out you can come over, and we can have waffles, and play board games,"

"I think I will be here forever,"

"Hey, see how the medication makes you feel,"

He nodded and blew on his soup, which I should've done because I burnt myself.

"You've never told me about your home,"

"I live with my older brother,"

"Rory, what did we say about this?" Mark sighed.

"I don't know, Mark. Anyway, he's great, but I am gonna move out when I am 18,"

"Are you going to university?"
