Tw. Mentions suicidal thoughts, psych ward
Calum

A blood sample, a urine sample, and a checkup later, Sage laid on the bed under the cover, shivering. I laid an extra blanket around them and gently rubbed their back, checking the time.

It was late now, almost bed time for the kids.

"Shall we face time Gia and Rider?"

They shrugged and I frowned, doing it anyway, because as soon as they heard his voice they'd want to say hello.

And I was right, they flipped over when Rider said goodnight.

"Sage, I love you!"

"I love you too,"

"Are you coming home?"

"I don't know,"

"Why?"

"I just don't,"

"The doctors are going to decide the best thing for Sage, so we have to wait. We love you two a lot!"

"I love you, dad," Gia said, blowing me a kiss, "And Sage,"

"Goodnight, don't wake Luke and Ash up too early,"

They giggled, but the call cut it off short, so I out my phone back away and looked at Sage.

"Am I coming home?"

"A psychologist is going to come and talk to you, and I am going to fill out some paperwork, then we will know,"

"Okay,"

"I'm so proud of you,"

"I'm scared,"

I leant over and hugged them, trying my best to comfort them.

"Why did they take blood and urine?"

"To check it isn't medication or a medical condition making you have these thoughts,"

"I have had them before,"

"I know, darling, but they have to check,"

"I have tried to end things several times," they admit, their voice wobbling, "This isn't new,"

"Okay. I need you to tell the psychologist when they come, and just explain how you have been feeling. They're here to listen and understand,"

"Are they gonna ask questions?"

"They are, and sometimes that might make you uncomfortable, but it's important to be as truthful as possible,"

The door opened, and I expected to see a doctor, but Michael appeared in his fancy shirt with a mcdonalds bag.

"I can't stay, but they let me come and bring you guys some food," he said, a nurse beside him.

"Don't you have a date?"

"She's in the car,"

"Thank you, Michael," Sage said, sitting up, "I am hungry,"

"No problem, give me a shout if you guys need anything else,"

He was escorted away, so I gave Sage their food, and took out my own, helping them with the pillows on their bed.
