FAMILY TIES (S1:E4)

As I wake up, I look around to see I'm not in my room. Remembering what happened last night, I can't help but give myself a good old face-palm.

I look over and I see Jenna, still sleeping, clearly naked underneath the blanket. I look at the clock, seeing it's been 5 past when Jenna would usually have to get up.

Sighing, knowing this isn't a good idea and that I should just leave quietly, I gently shake Jenna awake. When she wakes up, she looks at me confused.

Jenna : You're still here? Why?

I point at the clock and seeing how late it is, she jumps out of bed immediately, apparently forgetting that she isn't wearing any clothes.

I just get up and start putting on clothes, before walking down the stairs hoping neither Elena nor Jeremy notice me. Of course, they notice me immediately.

Elena : Sam? What are you doing here? Have you been sleeping here?

Sam : Ehm... yeah. Jeremy and I had a sleepover, right? It's been a blast, mate.

He looks at me in confusion, but I look at him in a pleading manner.

Jeremy : Yeah, Sam's been staying over night. Hope that's ok.

Elena : Sure. Here, get some cerial for breakfast, we got to go to school in a bit.

Rolling my eyes, I walk into the kitchen with a fake smile.

Sam : Thanks.

Elena : Coffee?

Sam : Sure.

That's when Jenna comes down, shocked to see me standing in the kitchen drinking coffee.

Jeremy sees the way she looks at me and puts two and two together, looking shocked but not spilling any beans while Elena's around.

Logan (on TV): To repeat, the animal terrorizing Mystic Falls has been caught.

Jenna: Scum ball. Scum bucket.

I chuckle to myself, thinking that there is one "S" too many.

Elena: Who are you talking to?

Jenna: Him.

Sam : The news guy?

Jenna: Also known as Logan "Scum" Fell. Did your mom ever tell you why I moved away from Mystic Falls?

Elena: Oh, no way. You and him? He's cute.

Sam : If that's your definition of cute, I finally see why you and Matt were a thing.

She glares at me, so I give her a teasing wink.

Jenna: He is not cute. There's nothing cute about him.

She then points at a package.

Jenna : What are you doing with that?

Elena: I went yesterday and got it from the safe deposit box. Mom had told Mrs. Lockwood she would loan it to the founder's council for their heritage display.

Jenna: Is that grandma Beth's wedding ring?

Elena: Originally it was great-great-grandma Mary's wedding ring.

Jeremy: How much do you think this stuff is worth? You know, like on eBay?

Sam : I bet it's worth over thousand if we find the right customer. Fifty-five?

Jeremy : Seventy-thirty. I'm keeping your secret after all.

Jenna and I look at each other in worry, while Jeremy smiles, knowing he just got the ultimate prison-free-card.
