s park, 9 pm. - jaesuk

that text was sent three days later after the café incident.

mika agreed and got to s park 20 minutes before 9 pm and still, as expected, she quickly saw jae suk already there sitting on a bench where only people walk pass by.

"oh, you're here early." mika smiled and sat beside him. just like before, he doesn't seem to be in a good mood.

it got silent for a while but jae suk decided to speak up, "hyori told me what you did three days ago."

oh great.

mika couldn't say a thing. "why did you do that to her?" jae suk asked.

"what? is it my fault?"

"of course, it is. you humiliated her in front of random people!" jae suk started to look mad at her.

"oh, now it's my fault. she's the one who cheated on you at the first place oppa."

"you know that my relationship with hyori is none of your business, okay?"

mika laughed, "so you're still in a relationship with her?! are you telling me you're forgiving an ugly ass bitch even though she was about to get pregnant by some guy?!" she paused then face palmed.

"look. she explained to me what happened that night, mika and--"

"so you're gonna believe her?!"

"just let me explain first." jae suk sighed before continuing, "we talked yesterday. she told me that she was drunk that day and--"

"then who's the guy with her? a random guy from the bar?"

"no. it's her best friend." the stupid reply got mika laughing.

"oh my gosh, how dumb you are, oppa. look, she can't just say that she's drunk with her best friend and just decided to make out with him on bed. that's not how best friends work, oppa! isn't it obvious?!"

"but she said--"

"what?! what did she say? did she told you that it's an accident JUST because she's drunk?!"

"no, not that." jae suk started to tear up, "she compared you and i with her and that guy. they're just very close friends."

"compared me and you?!" mika ran her hands through her hair and stood up from the bench, "you and i?! they're just like us?! did we even got drunk and made out before?! did we ever got naked together?!" mika laughed once again, "fuck no! can you try to at least think, oppa?"

"i believe her, mika. they're just close friends and they're both drunk." jae suk remained at his side and stood up, "they're just like us, really close friends, okay? that's it." jae suk started to turn around and walk away when mika suddenly asked him.

"what if i tell you that i like you? will you believe me now?"

jae suk turned back at mika again raising an eyebrow, "what did you say?"

"yeah. i like you, oppa. as in, i love you... i got closer to you because i like you." then she's the one who started tearing up as well.

"mika..."

"think about hyori and that guy. she compared themselves with me and you thinking that we're just very close best friends but no, one of us just likes the other that's why. think about it at least, stop being so dumb and just straight up believe her just because she's your girlfriend." mika said before walking away from him.

"mika, wait!" jae suk wanted to follow her but his feet felt really cold, they don't want to move.

the next day, mika headed to work pretty pale and dull. it was quite unexpected for mika but she got really obvious that she doesn't want to go to work today.

she types on her computer and heard her phone buzzing. it's the 16th time she heard it buzz since last night. and of course, it was texts from jae suk.

"unnie." a co-worker of hers, min daeun called her in a shy tone.

"oh, yes?"

"you're lee kwang soo's sister, right?" mika then thought that she was about to recieve a gift from the lady to give to kwang soo when she gets home.

"yes, i am. why?"

"i just want to ask since kwang soo ssi admitted that yoo jae suk ssi visits him in his house often... are the articles true?"

"articles? what articles?"

the lady grabbed her phone and opened it to a specific article and showed it mika.

yoo jae suk, confirmed break-up with the CEO of l company's daughter, lee hyori after five months of dating

mika just sighed and spoke to herself, "he finally used his brain."

the night came. mika finished her shift and is now walking back home on her own.

the noises of cars faded as mika walked in an alleyway considered as a shortcut to their apartment.

mika walked fast, nearly running. the atmosphere wasn't feeling great. it was very quiet, just some random insects trying to break the silence.

however, things went differently.

"hey there." a voice of some random guy approached mika as she walks.

mika didn't care but the guy was still approaching her. "pretty girls like you shouldn't be walking alone at night."

mika felt really uncomfortable but she just turned to the guy and said, "sir, i need you to shut up before i call the police."

"who said you can shut me up?" the guy then grabbed both of mika's arms and suddenly pinned her on the nearest brick wall holding her hands up high and his mouth busy kissing her neck.

mika tried shouting but her mouth was covered by the one of the guy's hand. this made mika cry so bad and send flashbacks two years ago.

mika cried so much trying to get out of the man's grip. "don't you fucking push me!" he shouted at mika and slapped her so hard on the cheek.

the guy then got one of his hand trail around mika's thin waist. mika's other hand was free so she immediately pushed him with all of her might breathing heavily and crying.

she then squatted down on the ground and started screaming and crying so loud, hoping someone would hear it.

she got very traumatized. just like two years ago.

since her shouts are getting louder, the man decided to run away before someone would come.

and someone did.

"mika!" jae suk immediately ran to her and see her crying so bad, "are you alright? mika, are you okay?"

mika just continued crying and hugged him real tight. "it's okay, it's okay, i'm here."

he then saw the guy running away, "hey!!" he wanted to follow him but he cared about mika way more than that.

jae suk knew what got mika traumatized two years ago. he knew what she had to face that time and he has to be honest, it wasn't any good.

"did he hurt you?" he cupped mika's face to see a red hand print on her cheek.  it was very visible even though she's already crying.

"don't cry, mika. you're safe now."jae suk hugged her again to give her at least a bit of comfort.

"you're safe now, i promise."
