i'm listening to the kind of music she doesn't like

"okay, so you two are telling me that you both had an argument just because of lee hyori?" kwang soo asks as he prepares dinner at the kitchen with jae suk and mika at the living room on their phones, "something like that." mika replied.

"that's so... that's just so childish!" kwang soo laughed.

"you're more childish." jae suk teased kwang soo.

"eyy, hyung!"

mika yawns and stands up from the sofa, "i'll just be in my room." said mika and went straight to her room.

"hyung." kwang soo called.

"what?"

"i have a question."

"what now?"

kwang soo hesitated at first but then said, "how come you're so caring about my sister?"

"what?" jae suk was confused and chuckled, "what do you mean?"

"like, you care for her 2 times more than me."

"what am i supposed to do, say sorry and hug you around?" jae suk asked and laughed, "that's just nonsense. plus, she has to do at least something in her life than just sit around on her computer, that's why i care for her."

"phew. for a second there, i thought that you like her."

"what the heck, lee kwang soo! why would you think that?"

"because you and hyori are just forced right?"

---

after dinner, jae suk decided to check if mika is alright so he knocked on her bedroom door, "come in!" mika allowed.

jae suk opened the door to see mika eating chips while facing the computer.

"we just had dinner and you're eating again?"

"what do you care? i want to eat." mika said and opened her spotify while jae suk started picking up some trash on the floor, "you know, you should clean your room sometimes." he said as he grabs a can of cola.

"don't have time for that." mika replied.

"come on, i'm sure you--" he got cut off by mika who pressed the shuffle to hear the song "pick me" from produce 101. "ya, do you listen to that song?!"

"a-ah, no, no!" mika tried to press shuffle again but jae suk tried to stop her, "ya! i like that song! do you? i mean, you must like it too because it's in your playlist!"

mika sighed and just accepted defeat, "yeah, i like it too."

right after she said that, jae suk started dancing, "you know, hyori and i don't get along with songs."

"why?"

"oh, she doesn't listen that often. but, i'm glad you and i like that song!" jae suk smiled at her than felt the song's climax coming in.

"오늘 밤 주인공은 나야 나 나야 나!" both jae suk and mika sang together and even danced the iconic dance move together.

i wish it would be this easy.

---

jae suk came back to his place and flopped on the bed, facing the other way to stare at the ceiling.

then he started to remember something.

"because you and hyori are just forced right?" kwang soo asked.

three months ago...

"but dad, i don't want to--"

"we already discussed this, my son. if you date lee hyori, the daughter of the CEO of L Company, it would be the connection for our company to come together with theirs. can't you see how much benefit we can get from them?"

"so you're saying that i should date some random girl just for YOU to get money?" jae suk sighed and ran his hand through his hair, "that's so stupid, dad!"

"no it's not stupid! think about how much help we can get, they're a very big company!" jae suk's dad shouted at him.

jae suk couldn't answer and just looked at the floor, with hands closed together.

"think about it, my son. once i retire, think about how much you will earn when you inherited the company, it can go through genera--"

"but dad, i already have a career on my own! i make people laugh, i host shows, i'm already satisfied with what i have."

"but you're not earning enough, right?" the simple question made jae suk really offended, it made him walk out of the room.

that whole exact scene never left jae suk's thoughts, it's like it was from a script. no matter how hard he tries to forget, much more voices of his dad forcing him to date lee hyori kept coming.

"what should i do?" jae suk sighed.
