if you could see that i'm the one
who understands you

at the same night, the strong smell of samgyupsal took over the whole restaurant as mika, kwang soo, jae suk, and her mother go on a special samgyupsal dinner together to celebrate mika being hired at her new job in her dream broadcasting company starting in the next two days.

"congratulations, mika. i knew you they would hire you so easily. i didn't knew you already took a job interview." kwang soo spoke as he stared to grill the meat.

"ah i got accepted for a job interview the day after i applied so yeah, did everything undercover." mika chuckled as she took a shot glass of the soju.

"ya, you're already drinking." jae suk tried to stop her.

"it's okay, i can handle it at least a glass."

"aish, don't worry about that, jae suk ah. we should celebrate!" hana reassured him and took a shot glass too.

"but she can't drink that well."

"coming from you." mika spoke back to him making the other two laugh.

"he passes out easily just by two drinks." kwang soo teased.

"that's because i don't enjoy drinking."

"oh here you go again with you smart words. just drink, oppa." mika offered him a glass.

"no, i have work tomorrow." jae suk denied.

"oh, okay then." mika shrugged and just took the glass in one shot. "can i have samgyupsal now? i'm very hungry." mika started whining.

"you want to eat it raw?" kwang soo messed with her.

"i hate you."

"ah guys, let's just make a toast, okay?" their mother grabbed her glass making everyone grab their own glasses too, even if jae suk only had water on his shot glass.

they all raised it together, "i wish mika would be stable with her work and get more promotions! cheers!" hana shouted and clinked their glasses shouting, "cheers!" altogether.

"can you guys please stop drinking and let's just eat?" jae suk cuts them off after seeing the other three drink straight.

---

mika looked outside at the window and saw jae suk standing and holding his phone looking worried.

kwang soo and his mother are now having a drink competition in which whoever drinks the most wins.

mika quickly made it to the empty street right outside the restaurant, "hyori called you, huh?"

"yeah." jae suk's answer got mika laughing, "why are you laughing?"

"don't get me wrong but... i thought she said not to call you?" mika laughed making jae suk smirk and smack her shoulder playfully, "you're drunk."

jae suk then let out a sigh and dug his hands inside his pockets, "it's tough being in a relationship, right?" he asked her.

"oh, of course."

"just hearing my story about proposing to hyori just three months after dating, is just super dumb now that i realize it." jae suk laughed at himself.

"at least you tried." mika tried to comfort him in some way.

jae suk sighed and looked for anything to fidget, "it's just because of my stupid dad."

mika raised and eyebrow, "what about him?"

"he wanted me to get married to hyori as soon as possible."

but the thing is, mika doesn't know that him and hyori are a forced relationship, so indeed, she was confused.

"what do you mean?"

jae suk chuckled, "don't you--" jae suk stopped and just decided not to tell her, "he just... wants me to get married early." he completely lied.

mika held his hand and looked at him, "just remember, if you need someone to talk to, don't forget that i'm here."

"thank you for understanding, mika. i know i can count on you." he said and took her for a very comfortable hug.

they stayed like there for a while and just adored how much comfort they give to each other.

i understand him so much. i'm glad he does the same.
