The Siphons obsession

Within an hour the whole hospital was drained of blood. I look down at my hands which are covered in blood and fall to my knees as tears come to my eyes.

"Zoe?" Damon calls out and I tense. He walks into view and kneels down to my height with a sigh. "Bonnie found what Kai needs, we're gonna get out of here." I scoff at him.

"Ya, then Bonnies gonna give me a witchy migraine and lock me away and drain me, right?" I ask and he sighs.

"We'll worry about all that when we get home. I just want to help you, you know that." Damon says and I sigh and nod.

"If you're gonna snap my neck to drain me... make sure I don't see it coming." I tell him and he sighs as he stands back up and holds his hand out to me. I take it and he pats my head before speeding us to the Salvatore house.

"If Bonnie asks, tell her you went back to your old house." Damon whispers as we walk to her. She pulls me into a hug, but I don't hug back, I push her away.

I see Kai walking around the yard holding up the ascendant as if he's looking for something.

Damon passes me a bag." I packed your pictures and the camera you liked so much." I give him a smile and take the bag from him.

"Thank you." I tell Damon, I feel Bonnie's eyes burning the side of my face and decide to walk away from them and walk up to Kai instead.

" Anything I can help with?" I ask but Bonnie's talking catches our attention.

"Family Massacred in Portland." The only one missing was the oldest boy, a 22-year-old named Malachai." Bonnie says and I look up to see Kai smirking at me. 

"Who names a kid Malachai? It's like they expected me to be evil." Kai says. I tense as he takes a step closer to me, gazing into my eyes.

"These kids were murdered." Bonnie says angry.

He finally looks away from me and to Bonnie." Hello? Not everyone died." He informs. "I had a soft spot for one of my sisters. Otherwise, I would've cut her lungs out, not just her spleen." Kai says and I tilt my head, eyes wide. 

I let out a shocked laugh. Kai looks at me and takes a step closer, our bodies an inch apart." You can survive without a spleen." He tells me and I nod looking to Bonnie.

"That's fair." I say and she gives me a dumbfounded look. I shrug. " What? There are two vampires here that aren't even close to being innocent. I mean Damon killed a pregnant lady." I say making Damon roll his eyes." And I-" I freeze reliving my first kill." I killed a kid too." I tell her.

"That's different, you were on a ripper binge, he's just insane." She spits." He just killed his whole family." She continues to spit.

" Coven, to be precise." Kai says and I tense.

"Your a witch." I state and he smiles at me.

"Yep, no magic obviously." He says with a shrug." The Gemini Coven did not take it too well when they heard what I did in Portland. That's why they banished me here. This isn't your Hell Damon, it's mine." Kai says with a smirk.

Bonnie storms off to the house and I sigh.

"We aren't letting Kai out of here, okay? He just said he's a serial killer." Bonnie says and I huff.

"He doesn't have any magic if we let him free he's basically human, he kills anyone and the cops will arrest him and problem solved, please Bonnie? I want to go home." I practically beg.

She turns around and snaps." Why? So you can drain people instead of blood bags?" I flinch, her comment hitting hard.

"Low blow Bon." Damon says but I shake my head and push past her to the kitchen. I sit at the table and pour myself a drink.

Bonnie comes in and sits next to me with a plate of pancakes and a sigh." I'm sorry. I know you're trying, and I will never be able to understand how hard it is for you, but I'm your sister, and I only want what's best for you." She says and I nod. " I love you." She says and I give her a soft smile.

"I know, you're just... really bad at showing it sometimes." I say and her face changes into a mixture of confusion and hurt, Damon walks in.

" Shame eating?" He asks Bonnie and kisses the top of my head.

"Thinking about that pregnant lady. She had a thing for pancakes." Bonnie tells him.

"That's what you remember?" Damon asks pouring himself a drink.

"You remember it, don't you? You make pancakes every day. You're punishing yourself. You call this place your hell, that means you feel remorse. That's what makes you different than kai. Means there's hope for you." Bonnie tells him.

"Look, we can still get out of here, we can just steal that ascendant contraption, and find out what Kai knows. We'll ditch him, he doesn't have any powers anyways." Damon explains.

"Actually, it's not that simple." Kai says coming out of nowhere making me jump in my seat.

"You gotta stop doing that. It's creepy." Damon tells him.

Kai pushes off the wall he was leaning on and walks closer to Bonnie." Here's the thing, I have a peculiar effect on magic. I can't generate it myself... but I can consume it from others, temporarily." Kai says and I stand up getting a bad feeling Kai looks me in the eye and all I can see is pain, even though he tries to hide it. I may have been a witch without magic but I was always cursed with being connected with other people's emotions. Grams called me an empath. I could feel people's emotions and my being itself can calm people.

"My family called me an abomination. That hurt my feelings." He grabs Bonnie's wrist making her shout in pain. My eyes widen as I freeze. Kai raises his free hand and he starts a fire while hurting Damon.

"Stop!" I shout and reach out to grab his hand. He looks at me with a smile and pulls me closer, I stumble into his arms. His hand moves down to my waist as he lets go of Bonnie. His thumb sneaked under my shirt to rub my waist. I shiver at the contact causing his smile to grow. I clear my throat and step away as Bonnie and Damon recover.

"If I consume all of Bonnie's magic, I'm just gonna end up killing her." Kai says walking away from Bonnie and closer to me. He moves some of my braids out of my face." But if we work together, we can all go home as friends." He says looking at me with a smile but his face turns dark. "Or I can devour her magic, kill you and Bonnie, and go home alone with Zoe."

"Why me?" I ask him and he gives me a big smile.

"Cause I like you. I think I wanna keep you. You're mine, Zoe." Kai says darkly. he moves away from me sitting down, and eats Bonnie's pancakes, while I let out a shakey breath." What's it gonna be?" Kai asks and I storm out of the room and go to mine.
