"Atsumi!" I called out across the phone in my hand.

"Ya forgot didn't ya, stray?!" His tired voice answered. It sounded as if I had woke him up.

"Cut me some slack mutt. It's been a long day," I said as I settled back down onto the couch. I decided to ignore the mess on the table in front of me opting to clean it in the morning.

"Speakin of, how did it go?" He asked sounding a little more awake. I could hear him moving around.

"Are you in bed?" I asked chuckling at the thought. "Did I interrupt something?"

"Yea, my sleep," He growled out. "Ya been drinkin. Again."

"Just a little," I conceded. "My new colleagues wanted to have a welcoming party for me. Ended up being at the new house and them helping me unpack while we ate and drank"

"That so?" He replied before the sound of a yawn cut across the line "Ya think ya will get along with 'em?"

"I have so far. Though today was nothing but utter chaos," I rubbed my forehead just thinking of the stress from the day. "Though there is one thing that might end up being a problem."

"What would that be?" Atsumi asked. His voice sharper than before.

"You know the random guy's house I told you I ended up at last night?" I began

"Don't tell me," His voice getting louder

"Yea. New coworker." I said letting out a bark of a laugh. "He didn't even completely remember everything either. Kind of recalled it being me but none of the events. Until I couldn't take it anymore and fessed up."

"Ya better not have got yaself into another relationship ya damned house cat," His growl getting lower with each word. "Ya just barely crawled back from the last heartbreak"

"Give me some credit Atsu," I said tiredly "I told him we can discuss everything at a later time. I'm going to lay everything out for him. Tell him about Adam and where I currently stand with the situation. I'm not ready for a commitment just yet. Doesn't mean I won't be in the future. I'll leave it up to him to decide what he wants after that. If he decides he's willing to stick it out and start as friends first then I'm willing do that much myself."

"Sounds like ya have thought it out some at least," Atsumi conceded after a few minutes of silence. "Just be careful Kai. So how are the other coworkers? Was ya able to get along with 'em?"

"I was. You remember the rescue hero Thirteen? The one I had that wildfire mission with?"

"I remember her. Had the weird space like suit right," He asked with a slight chuckle

"That's her. Turns out she's a teacher here at UA as well," I said getting excited again. "There's also Ectoplasm who I know you always thought was a cool hero. Turns out he loves karaoke. When you come in we need to invite him out for some or even to your studio. I think he would like that."

"Ya work with Ecto?!" Atsumi called out getting excited himself. "Lucky bastard."

I chuckled at him. This kind of talk, talking about our favorite pro heroes, reminded me of when we were younger. Not having to worry about bills, partners, or death. Only what we were going to sing at the next show we decided to put on at the local venue. "Don't worry big guy I'll introduce you them all."

"Wait. Doesn't the Sound Hero Present Mic work at UA as well?" Atsumi questioned

"He does," I answered with a laugh "He's currently in my bed along with last nights fling"
