"You're going to be in the announcement booth with Hizashi?"
"Not my idea." Shouta grumbled. "He asked me since you won't be able to."
"Hey! It's gonna be great, Sho!" The blonde exclaimed as he took his seat for breakfast.
"For who exactly?" Shouta said, taking a sip of his coffee.
"Don't be mean, Sho." I pat the top of his head. "It means that even though I won't be with you both, I can still hear you over the intercoms."
"What exactly does Nezu have you doing?" Hizashi asked as he began putting some food on Shouta's plate.
"I'll be working with Atsumi and his team to help with security. We will be coordinating with the heroes Nezu has hired," I said as I put some food into Leo's bowl. "Speaking of Atsu, where is he? If he doesn't come down soon, we're going to be late."
"He didn't get home until late last night." Sho shrugged. "He looked exhausted when he went upstairs."
That caused a frown to form on my face before I poured a cup of coffee. "I'm going to go wake him up and make sure everything is alright."
"If you two kiss, I want to be the first to hear about it." Hizashi laughed, earning a chuckle from Sho.
"If that happens, you might as well call Nezu because we will not be making it to the Sports Festival." I mumble as I begin to climb up the stairs.
When I got to the door, I hesitated before pushing it open. It wasn't closed all the way, and I could peek in and see him laying face down on the bed with his arms and legs out to the side.
The new feeling of becoming nervous at seeing him was unsettling. Not to mention a pain in the ass. He's the same Atsumi I've known since I was six years old. The same guy who knows every deep, dark part of my past and still remains at my side. Berating myself for being so foolish, I stepped inside and went to the side of the bed.
His broad back was bare of a shirt showing his sun-kissed skin that most surfers would be envious of, while the blanket covered the rest of his body. I knew all too well that he preferred to sleep in the nude if he could get by with it.
I sat down gently to not wake him up just yet. He looked peaceful like this. Without the weight of thousands of employees depending on him to do his job right. Too many responsibilities thrust onto his shoulders because of the family that decided to adopt him. If you were to ask him, he's grateful for them and all that they've done. But I know that sometimes he struggles with it all.
I moved my eyes down his back and took in the scars from our past. I began to trace over them lightly, the memory of that day replaying in my head.
He never feared me. Never shrank away from staying by me no matter how volatile my quirk became. Infinite love and patience for me.
How could I not see it before? How could I not see that, while, yes, I loved Atsumi.
But I was also in love with him.
"Kai?" His deep voice brought my attention to his face. I looked away from his back while leaving my hand there. "Ya okay?"
"I think I should be asking you that big guy," I smile before slapping his back hard
"What the hell cat?!" He yelled, shooting back until he fell off the side of the bed. "Damn it, that hurt. What's the big deal?"
"We're going to be late if you don't get your big ass out of bed." I chuckle as he got out of the floor. When he was fully upright, I forced myself to stare at his face and not the rest of his exposed body. "Why were you out so late last night anyway? Work that busy?"
