Tsukishima Kei sat on his futon before crawling under his blanket. Tsukishima's body felt as if it couldn't move at all as a result of the training and punishment, which consisted of jogging a few laps here and there if they lost a match, which happened frequently.

The rest were already sleeping, leaving him alone with his thoughts. He looked up at the ceiling as a memory raced across his mind.

He recalled how, at the time, they had a new transfer student. The student eventually introduced themselves as Min [Name], a Korean kid standing 5'5" tall with a cute appearance and a cheerful attitude that reminded him a lot of a certain shrimp.

Tsukishima wouldn't admit it, but he felt the new student was cute.

Yamaguchi approached [Name] first and greeted himself, followed by him and he had to squint his eyes when he noticed [color]-rette staring at him with an awestruck expression and a pink blush on his cheeks.

After a month, Tsukishima began to have strange feelings for the teen and decided to brush it off. That's when [Name] began to express his love for him, igniting his emotions.

He was glad but...

But...he was afraid.

Afraid of something that will happen next.

So he turned [Name] down, disregarding the confessions and treating the short teen harshly. Then he pretended he didn't care about him, insulting him and giving him a cold shoulder.

He observed [Name] forcing a smile after being rejected by him. He could read [Name] like a book and tell he was in pain.

He wanted to say sorry. He wanted to comfort [Name]. He wanted to say that he didn't mean all those things.

But he couldn't.

His fears are winning over him.

He's afraid.

Receiving some disgusted looks.

Some hurtful comments.

Everything.

But no matter how he tried, [Name] was still there and didn't give up. That's when he made the most idiotic and unforgettable move, and that brings a massive impact on the latter.

Then one day...

[Name] disappeared.

He realized how he had broken his precious heart, dashed his hopes, and transformed that person into a new one that no one could tell if it was the person back then.

After all...

He was a coward.

Tsukishima Kei was a coward.

Tsukishima Kei was a coward
