Scarlett's POV
"There, your hair is all done." Addy pat my shoulders. I stayed still and continued to stare blankly in front of me. "Scarlett, are you alright?"
"My heartbeats gone." I felt around the left side of my chest but felt nothing.
"Scarlett, you're dead. You don't have a heartbeat."
I growled at Addy, hopping off the tailgate. "Not dead."
"Alright. Alright, you're not dead. Let me feel?" She asked. I nodded and climbed back onto the tail gate, sitting on my knees in front of her. She gently placed her hands over where my heart is and chuckled after a second. "Your heartbeat is there it just doesn't beat as often as it would."
"Oh.. thanks."
"It's no problem. Can I ask you something?"
"You did. Just now."
"Hah hah, very funny. But seriously." She laugh, I nodded. "Why are you dressing like this for Murphy?"
"Not for Murphy." I said disgusted. "For him." I looked towards Tommy. He was checking around the perimeter with Doc.
"For 10k? You have a crush on 10k?"
"He likes me."
"Oh definitely."
"Would he like this?" I gestured to my outfit.
"Girl, you turning me on with that outfit. If 10k doesn't like it then he's probably cheering for the other team?"
"Other team?"
"Means he probably likes guys."
"No. We kissed, he's not cheering for the other team. He can't be. He likes me." I started to get angry, Addy placed both hands on my shoulders and smiled.
"Ok.. ok. Calm down, Scarlett. It was just an expression." She chuckled again. "Why don't you go over to him and see."
"How will I know?"
"You really aren't good with boys are you?" I shook my head. "I'll be right here. If I give you a thumbs up that means he likes it.. or you can just straight up ask him." She shoved me lightly plastering a smile.
I stepped back off the tailgate and went over to the old man and younger boy. "Hey Scarlett." Doc said glancing over at me then snapped his head back when he registered my appearance. "Uh.. good luck kid." He told Tommy after noticed my gaze was on him and not the old man.
Doc walked over to Warren and Vasquez, leaving me and the boy alone. "Tommy.." I grabbed his attention from the scenery, once his eyes set on me expression changed to one of shock.
"Woah.. Scarlett." He gasped lightly. I glanced back at Addy, she was wearing a smile and held up a thumb.
