Peter's POV

I step to the side revealing Riley and letting him in. He scowls as he walks past us both and sits on the couch.

"Well aren't you going to introduce us?" He says to Riley.

He's around my height , maybe an inch or two shorter. He's not as built as me though. He has brown hair and green eyes. His skin is tanned from the sun.

"...Peter." She starts and grabs my hand.

"This is Chet." She motions towards him.

"And Chet, this is Peter." She motions back to me. Chet's eyes lock on our hands contact.

"And who is he?" He asks. His voice on the verge of rage.

"He's my friend." She answers calmly.

My heart drops. My hand slips from hers. Just her friend? Chet looks hopeful.

"We were just working out."

Chet stands and walks towards Riley. I step away and she looks at me for a second. How dare she say that we are just friends. Didn't she feel it? The pull between us? I leave and go to the kitchen and gets some water. The water she never finished getting before ducking Chet showed up!

"Did you still want to go on that date?" He asks in a voice that's louder than needs to be.

"I'm leaving Chet, for New York in about an hour. I was just about to finish packing. I really need to hurry though. When I come back, we will talk."

"Sure, yea okay. That's fine. But it's deffinately still a possibility though right?"

"Possibilities are endless Chet. I have to get ready." I turn and glare at them.

He pulls her into a tight hug. She awkwardly pats his back. He lets her go and kisses her cheek and leaves. Taking another swallow of the cold water I've only slightly calmed down.

Walking to stand in front of her, I speak. "So we're only friends?"

"Peter..."

"Only friends!?" I sigh and take a calming breath.

"After all the kissing and the lake swimming and the training and the me telling you your beautiful and you think I only want to be friends?"

"Peter I-"

"No, there's no way that you didn't feel the pull. I know you feel the connection." I grab her hands and look her in her eyes.

"Do you feel it?"

"Yes Peter I feel it."

"Then why tell him that were just friends if you feel something more?"

"Peter I don't know! I just met you. I don't know what I feel!" She lets me hands go and runs her hands through her hair.

"Okay." I turn and head for the stairs after slipping on my shoes .

"Where are you going?" I ignore her and she follows me up the stairs.

I head into her room and grab the duffle bag that's mine.

"What're you doing?" She grabs my arm and turns me to face her.

"I'm getting ready to leave for New York. Like we you planned. The quicker were there, the better. " I turn away from her and try to think of all the things I'll need.

"And we're does this leave us?" Her voice barely above a whisper.

I turn and look into her eyes. "As friends, like you said. You said you barely knew me. Well take it real slow." I turn away from her.

She leaves and returns with her tooth brush and paste. She tosses it in the bag and picks it up.

"Okay, let's go." She looks at me.

I toss the bag over my shoulder and follow her near the stairs. There's another knock on the door and we both pause. We can see men in black suits near the window trying to peak in. One of the men spots us and yells to the others and does an weird hand motion. I grab Riley's have and lead her back towards her bed room. We quietly lock the door and I frantically look around.

There's no escape from the top floor except for her window. It's to high up for Riley to jump without hurting herself.

"Clear!" A deep voice yells from outside as Riley quickly puts on her pair of chucks from her closet.

The glass breaks and there are multiple foot steps running. I open her window and gaze out of it. There are no men in black surrounding this side of the window. We have no choice but to jump. I take off the duffle bag and drop it out the window. I angle myself and leap from he window. I hear Riley gasp and I look up to see relief washing over her face. She tosses the duffle bag out and I catch it and place it near mine.

"In here!" Her door is smashed open and she turns and looks.

Relief is quickly replaced with fear, she jumps.

"Dammit!" I catch her without effort and grab her bag.

She grabs mine and we run.
