Chapter 34

Peters POV
"Okay, I'm Michael, Riley's father." He pauses and smiles as if this is some happy get together, looking from Daniel and then to me.

"Riley was born September 30 in 1987 to Elisabeth and myself, of course. Shortly after her birth, Elisabeth went on a 'vacation' and never returned. I told her family of her sudden disappearance and that I needed someone help me nurture Riley, figuring Riley would need a mother figure in her life."

"Coincidentally Elisabeth had a twin I was unaware about, that her father had introduced me to, which is Lorraine. "

"Lorraine, after a while of searching for her sister along with the rest of the family, agreed to help me watch Riley and eventually she just moved into the house. "

"Me and Lorraine started to fall in love and I asked her to marry me. We got married in 1989, when Riley was two."

He stuffs a handful of popcorn in my mouth. I almost bite his hand but decide not to considering he has a gun and may blow my face off. I chew slowly and swallow.

"You guys can have some. I know you guys must be hungry. Go ahead." He motions towards the bowl and chews his popcorn.

"Riley grew up happy just like any other kid did, just with slight differences. Differences such as training in the basement every night to gain skill with weapons and fighting. Everything else was pretty much normal. We taught her to go after her dreams and to always be the best she can be and all that good stuff."

He sighs."Well in 2000, Riley was 13 at the time. Me and Lorraine had gotten into a huge argument while Riley was away one weekend, I don't remember where too. "

"Why?" Riley asks

"Well actually it was over your birth mother. Lorraine found out that the story of Elisabeth going away on vacation, never to return, wasn't true."

"Where did she go?" Riley questions, her voice shaky.

"I'll save that part for the end darling. It's the very best part. Go ahead and eat some pop corn."

"I'm not really hungry. " Riley says

"EAT IT!" He storms, placing his hand on the gun.

We all grab handfuls of popcorn and simultaneously shove it into our mouths.

"Okay, where was I. Right, so Lorraine found out that it wasn't true and she was very angry. She requested a divorce and full custody over Riley. I couldn't let that happen. Riley was living proof of Elisabeth and I regretted my actions towards her after they were done"

"What actions!" Riley yells

He sighs heavily and shakes his head. "You have to wait! So anyways, Lorraine hit me across the face and actually pulled a gun on me and told me to leave."

He chuckles and shakes his head. "I smacked the gun from her grip and beat the crap out of her after that. How dare she pull a gun on me."

" She called the cops on me when I went to go see what was on tv. I heard her hand up when a commercial came on, after the whole conversation had already transpired and decided to beat her some more since I was already going to go to jail."

He laughs a deep throaty laugh. "I think I broke her arm that day, and a few of her ribs from kicking her. I remember a busted lip and black eye too. The whole thing was just a great scene. "

I place my hand on Riley's willing her to stay calm. This man in truly nefarious.

"The cops came and Lorraine was a bloody heap on the kitchen floor and I was sitting on the couch flicking through channels trying to find something to watch. "

"They kicked down the door...I don't know why. All they had to do was ask me to open it. "

He laughs again. "They arrested me and called and ambulance for Lorraine. I remember sitting in the back of a cop car watching her being carried out the house on a stretcher and being put into the back of an ambulance. "

"They drove me to a police station and tried to questioned me. I told the truth from the very second the officer sat down with a tape recorder. "

"I told them her Lorraine hit me in the face and then pulled a gun on me. So I beat her to a pulp. They locked me away for about to days. I went through trials and was declared insane, so they put me in a mental rehabilitation jail like place. "

"I was there for three years and the whole three years I planned this very day, where I would get to see Riley again and have her move back in with me. "

I can see why this guy was declared insane...

"So upon release. I had to do community service and such while wearing a dreadful ankle bracelet. After a full year, I was officially free and I had paid the system not to keep my record clean. "

"I tapped into our money, I still had the banking info. And I hired these fabulous men. " He motioned to the men in black. "I personally shot your grandfather, partly as revenge on Lorraine for having me locked up for three years, mostly because I needed to get her away from you...."

"I suppose I could have just sent them" he motions to the men "to kill her. But that may have traumatized you to see...unless you wouldn't have seen it. "

"Anyways, I knew that she would be coming to see her father. And I also knew that if he got better she would return. So I had men posted and they shot down her plane. "

"Then I had people come and get you. what a wonderful story. "

He smiles broadly and clasps his hands together. And then shoves more popcorn in his face.

"Eat the popcorn. I was polite to have Marco go and make you some. So now eat it." He demands

I should kill this guy.

"What really happened to my birth mother?" Riley asks in a cold voice.

I look at her profile and squeeze her hand. If looks could kill, this man would be dead on the spot.

"I was once in love with her. But she became constantly annoying, and nagging, I found myself starting to hate her. One nigh she told me that she was pregnant, but then she continued to nag. I dealt with the incessant woman for about eight and a half months after she told me she was pregnant."

"We had a home birth, and after you were born, I killed her. "

Riley was born in 1987, Michael 'died' in 2000 making Riley 13 at the time. The current year is 2004 making Riley 17 years old.

How do you guys like the story so far? It's my first story, my apologies if it's crappy.
