Chapter Twenty Six- Laurel

        It was weird. When there are explosives hidden a few feet away from you, you have no idea it's even there. You would think you could smell something, like smoke, but it's completely unexpected. Well, unexpected is one word to describe the feeling of coming close to being blown up.

        It happened fast. In a split second, the wall closest to me and exploded in flames, and fragments had flown all around the room. Everyone screamed, as normal people would do, but as soon as they processed it and opened their mouths to call for help, it was over. All that was left was a pile of rubble where the wall should've been and ruined china, gowns, and frankly, bodies. No one was left untouched. I was the most unfortunate one, with several deep cuts in my arms and legs, and a large hunk of wall on top of my left leg, and lots of blood.

        Black spots danced across my eyes and I could hear the shouts of the guards entering the room. But everything was muffled and blurred and in slow-motion. I tried to stay concious and stop myself from closing my eyes, but instead, I chose to close my eyes and embrace the possible feeling of never opening them again.
