"Soda isn't it inappropriate to kiss your patients when playing doctor?" Dally jokes, but I can tell there is some sort of real resentment deep in his voice, "I mean especially since you are still dating that Sandy chic,"
"Shut up Dally," Soda growls before standing up, "I should go help with breakfast," he continues before leaving me alone in the bathroom. I almost forgot that Soda had a girlfriend... almost.
"Wow getting hot and heavy already? Seems about right," Dally continues after Soda took his leave making my blood boil.
"You are sick, fucking sick you know that right?" I shrill at the impossible man standing in front of me.
"Hey, I'm just observing," He chuckles.
"You have no right to have said that Dally. You don't know me, you don't know what I'm like. I was starting to think that maybe, just maybe, you weren't as horrible as I first imagined after last night. Clearly, I was wrong," I yell once more on the verge of tears.
"I guess I don't know what you're like, do I? And you don't know what I'm like, do you? I thought that was pretty clear princess. Now I'm going to go eat some breakfast. Join us if you must," He grimly smiles before leaving for the kitchen himself.
Giving myself a few more minutes to catch my breath and emotions I decide to make my way to the kitchen as well where I am greeted by the whole gang. I sit between Soda and Pony to avoid conversation and eye contact, especially with Dally.
I manage to keep this act up throughout all of breakfast and am relieved when Dally leaves just as he finishes eating. Though I am no longer scared to even lift my head anymore I do still keep quiet while helping Darry with the cleanup and dishes.
"You ready to head home? I can drive you now," Soda offers gently with permission from Darry.
"Sure," I simply reply before turning to thank Darry, "Thank you, for everything. I have no idea how I will ever be able to repay your act of kindness,"
"It's quite alright," Darry replies with a slight chuckle, "Just don't jump out of any more cars and I will be happy,"
"Easy enough," I smile back before saying goodbye to Pony and the rest of the remaining gang before walking outside.
"So I don't exactly know where you live Christine," Soda explains as we both hop into the car, "Even if I did I am sure you would want me to drop you off blocks away,"
"Why would I want that? I mean sure if you want to save some gas but if it's on my regulars I don't mind you dropping me off at my house," I reply with a smile.
"Alright then, your house it is," Soda smiles as he pulls onto the road.
The first few minutes of driving are silent. The only noise to be heard is the tires against the road. I watch the window noticing how each house we pass slowly gets nicer and nicer. Eventually, we make it to my side of town.
"I wish I had a car," I comment not knowing what else to say while noticing how almost every house has one in its driveway. Sure Mother has a car but she refuses to teach me how to drive, she claims it's unladylike and she only drives out of necessity which is pretty contradicting if you ask me. She says that a woman's husband should be able to choose if their wife is allowed to drive. And if he grants her that pleasure it is his job to teach her. I think that's old-school bull shit.
"You don't have one?" Soda then asks.
"Not really, my mother does but she would never let me drive it. She is so reserved that she doesn't even want me to learn how to drive. I have a bike though, so that's nice. I guess you know that I have one of those,"
