CHIMON
Even though Win told me to relax and just mingle with the family, I still come to the kitchen and help him out a little bit. I ain't no cook, to be honest, but I could really whip a thing or two if I really have to, besides, living alone for many years - I have to fend for myself, including preparing edible meals. Aside from that, I feel more comfortable being with Win in this space than mingling with other people, not that I don't enjoy the company - I do, it's just that I am awkward. Besides, Nanon seems to understand my anxiousness since he gave me a reassuring smile earlier when I told him that I'd help out his Father in the kitchen.
On the other hand, Win is already finishing up on some of his gorgeously beautiful dishes that had been laid out on the kitchen counter, and how jealous I am to not be able to make meals that can bring people together.
"Is there something wrong, love?" Win asks, curiosity peeking through his eyes and I shrug a shoulder before letting out a deep sigh.
"I'm not a good cook," I mumble while Win hands me gloves, and I diligently open and take out the baked portabello mushrooms to put on the cooling rack.
"I don't even know what to cook for Nanon, and I don't even know what food he likes. Between the two of us, he knows these kinds of things better than I do."
"Oh sweetie," Win chuckles lightly and gently places another dish on the counter before looking at me with gentle eyes. "Nanon isn't a picky eater, just like his Dad, and he is always grateful to anyone that puts food on his table. Not only him, but the girls are also the same because we have taught them how to appreciate whatever they have in front of them. It didn't matter whether they like it or not, as long as they stay thankful and give compliments to the person. Besides, Nanon had been learning how to cook since he was 10 to well, prepare for this day, I suppose."
Confused, I ask. "This day?"
"Yes, darling. This very day that he will find the person that he wants to spend his life with, and to pamper that person with love, hugs, kisses, and very delicious meals. Oh," he exclaims and looks at me excitedly.
"I have a secret to tell you, I taught myself how to bake when I find out that Bright loves to eat cookies and cakes," he winks and I blush, thus earning a pearl of light laughter from the male.
"See? I succeeded in seducing him with my beautiful apron, delectable cookies, and delicious cakes."
"Oh gosh," I say breathily and shake my head in amusement. "In that case, maybe, I can come here for some cooking and baking lessons?"
"Surely, love. I will be very much willing to teach you anything and everything that you want to know - and make my son fall even more in love with you."
"D-d-daddy..."
"It's cute how kids these days do blush so easily," he says teasingly and I fiddle with my fingers until Win gives my cheek a gentle tap.
