ELLIE
"Your ready, it's been a week," Casey asked. I woke up from surgery a week ago, only to find out my daughter was born. Lindsay had lost his memory and is unconscious. Also to know that I had a brain bleed.
Today the doctor said I should be strong enough to get into a wheelchair and go see Lindsay. They'll even bring Lilianna down so we can see her. We've both met her and cuddled her. Just not together.
Lindsay can't technically come to see me. They both want him moving around too much seeing how he does have a grade three concussion.
He also just got his vision and memory back a few days ago.
Casey helps me stand. I've been okayed to walk around. Though, about just having brain surgery, they don't advise it.
Sitting into my wheelchair Casey pushes me down the hall a couple of rooms to Lindsay's room. I smile seeing Lindsay laying in the bed and awake. He turns his head and smiles at me.
Fuck, I've missed that smile.
Casey pushes me next to his bed, Naomi and Dustin move away from the bed. "Non spaventarmi mai piu'amore."
[TRANSLATION: Never scare me like that again love,]
Lindsay smiles and grabs my hand. Gripping his hand tightly I lay my head on his thigh to hide that I'm crying. I was so scared that he was going to die.
"We are going to give you two some time to spend together," Dustin says resting a hand on my back before I hear everyone shuffling out.
The door closes and Lindsay combs his hand their my greasy hair. "My hair is greasy, you should touch it."
He removes his hand. I lift my hand when I feel him shuffling. My eyes widen as he pats the bed. He made room for me.
Slowly getting out of the wheelchair I climb into the bed. Wary of my broken arm. Lindsay smiles at me. "This is much better, how you feeling," Lindsay says running his fingers through my greasy as fuck hair.
"For one, my hair is disgusting, and I'm doing good, surprisingly I didn't revive that many broken bones after being thrown from the car," I say drawing circles on his chest.
Lindsay kisses my head. I hate that he's going to be stuck in here for a few more days while I'm being released tomorrow.
Someone knocks on the door before slightly opening in. A nurse pokes her head in and smiles seeing us cuddling. "Hey, hope I'm not interrupting, I brought someone for a visit," she says, quickly leaving the room and rolling in the tiny little bed that is Lilianna's.
I get up and sit on the edge of Lindsay's bed. The nurse moves Lindsay's bed up so he can see her too.
She hands Lilianna to me. Her little hands instantly grab my hair. Father like daughter. "So, Lilianna is able to come home with you tomorrow, I just wanted to go over a few things if that's alright, I'm not trying to push any boundaries or question your guy's abilities to parent."
Evelyn, that's what I think her name is. She is always the nurse who brings me Lilianna. But this is Lindsay's first time meeting her.
I hand Lilianna to Lindsay so he can hold her. "So Lilianna-Rose is actually a very good sleeper, she doesn't cry very much during the night. Yes, that is odd but the doctors did make sure she is in good health."
That's good at least, I have been worrying about what her sleep is going to be like. I've heard that Lilianna's first months will be hell.
