ELLIE

Standing back, taking a look at my finished piece of art. I wouldn't technically say finished. It is just a bigger draft in colour so I can go off of it. I have it drawn in my sketchbook but it is very messy.

The painting consists of two wolves, one of pastel colours with tints of white and grey while the second consists of deep reds, oranges, blues, there are even pinks in there with the tints of black and violet.

Wolves symbolize loyalty and guardianship, they also represent being able to live independently and have control over our lives.

Eventually, I plan on painting this on my wall. Legally I'm allowed to do so, I have it in writing, signed by the building manager.

Though I don't want to paint it on my wall then just move out, because if I just move out, I'll have to paint over it again.

I mean the building manager okayed it, mom had a proper conversation with him seeing how she is a lawyer. A very good one at that. Dad is the CEO of some company. Both of my parents are extremely rich.

Although we have a lot of money, my parents raised me to be respectful, that not everything is about money, and that I still need to be kind.

Sure we lived in this mansion, I called it a mansion but really, it wasn't as big as it could have been. My parents didn't want a big house, just because they didn't want to raise me spoiled.

The Torre family is well off too, Lindsay's dad left when he was six, Naomi was five. Ever since he's been paying child support, more than he probably should. From what I heard he's a Lawyer just like Dustin.

That's apparently how Dustin and Lindsay's father met, I'm not sure what his name is exactly. Mom knows who he is, she used to work with him until Dustin and he split then he left New York.

Dustin is still an excellent Lawyer, working in a neighbouring law firm to mom. Lindsay's Stepfather Alexander, he's a private investigator.

Lindsay and Alexander don't get along, mostly because Lindsay just doesn't want to get to know him. I mean Lindsay blames himself for his father leaving. he just needs to open up more. Naomi loves him, apparently, he likes to takes Naomi and Lindsay out on Sundays to do whatever they want.

Normally Lindsay would get out of this by saying he had to study, he normally did, with me. Sometimes we just watched movies.

I was kind of his scapegoat from his stepfather. Not that I minded, I got to spend a lot of time with Lindsay.

Back to this painting, where would I even put it.  Maybe on the wall in front of my bed. That looks like a good place to paint it.

Hearing the front door close I put my paintbrush down. "I'm back," Lindsay calls from the other side of my door. Opening it I almost blush, forgetting I'm in my bra.

I tend to paint in my bra, I have an old bra I use to paint in so I don't wreck my good ones. But my boobs are on display for him and he's not even looking, I can't tell if he's being respectful or just isn't interested.

I open the door to my room and he comes in caring for my paint. He even got the brand right. "Was I right about the rep?" I ask already knowing I am, I buy the most expensive paint there. They for some reason always try to get me to buy the cheap flakey paint.

"Yep, anyways, here's your paint, what are you painting anyway?" Lindsay says as I'm looking through the paint to make sure it's right, I normally don't buy this many specific colours but I know what colours I need.

"This," I say referring to my painting that is drying and he looks at me confused.

"Ellie, hate to break it to you, it's already painted," he says and I laugh. I smack his head lightly.
