LINDSAY
Out of the three of us, Cassie has always been the worst at video games and he knows it but always tries. We ordered pizza and it's almost all gone.
My phone is buzzing on the table and I flip it over to find Ellie's name across the screen. "Put it on speaker, I wanna hear how drunk she is" Avery laughs and I roll my eyes but answer and put it on speakerphone.
The line is silent. But I hear her crying. "Lindsay, did you answer, I don't know if you did," Ellie says through the line. Her voice is severely slurred and she doesn't sound like she normally does.
"Ellie, are you okay?" I ask her and Cassie pauses the game and she sobs.
" I don't know, I think I'm hurt because he beat me but I can't feel anything because he drugged me and I don't know where I am and I'm scared" she cries into the phone and I look at Avery and I see him clenching his fist. Ellie is like his little sister.
"Elle, hey there you are" I hear a female voice say on the line, I don't recognize this voice. "Your bleeding a lot, honey, press this to your face"
"No, I want to go home" Ellie cries and it breaks my heart.
"Okay, we can go home, where's home?" the girl asks and Ellie cries louder.
"I don't know," Ellie says and I hear the phone muffling and someone clears their voice.
"Is this... Lindsay" the girl says and I realize she has Ellie's phone. She must have read the caller ID.
"Yes, where is she? Can I come to get her," I say and I hear the girl moving around. She's talking to someone. I don't know who but she is.
After a minute she comes back to the phone. "The North Pier, head to the boat launch and take a right onto a dirt road and you'll find the site," she says and I agreed, telling her I'll be there soon and hang up. The three of us get up and run to get ready, to the parking garage.
When we get to the car it's like the car couldn't move fast enough and I was hitting every red light.
Pulling into the North pier, guided by Avery and Cassie. I find the signs leading me to the boat launch. It's not hard to find the dirt road actually in the dark. There are cars lined up. I pull right up and I see the fire going crazy and people drunk out of their mind.
Getting out of the car, well the three of us get out. A blonde chick comes up to us. "Are one of you Lindsay?" she says and I realize that she was who I was talking to on the phone.
"Yeah I am, where is she?" I ask and she nods her head to tell us to follow her. She leads us around cars and I feel my stomach turn when the sight of the girl I love is leaning up against this truck, a girl holding a cloth to her face. I can already see her bruised face.
"Ellie, Lindsay is here, she's been asking for you, I don't know what he gave her but she's fragile, keeps blacking out, and when she wakes up she asks if you're here," the girl says, and I nod.
Bending down in front of her she looks at me. "You came," she says and I smile at her, she's out of it.
"Where's the son of a bitch who did this?" Avery says as I take over holding the cloth for the girl. I looked at the girl who was on the phone. We really need to know her name.
"Someone over there, Kyle saw him beating her and tackled him to the ground and beat him. When Kyle turned around she was gone and I found her here, she hasn't moved since, I'm Casey, by the way, I should have seen this, he kept getting her drinks all night and then right before he was getting really angry." Casey explains to us and I nod. Ellie leans into me. She sighs.
She didn't deserve this to happen to her. "You're saying it was possible he didn't just slip something into her drink one, but multiple times?" Cassie says and she nods.
"That's him right there," Casey Says and before I know it Avery is gone. Shit. I motion for Casey to take over for me and I get up. I see Avery pinning this guy to a truck. He looks like someone who'd do this. I know it's mean to say but I'm mad.
"What the hell did you give you!" Avery says and he tries to push Avery off.
"Benzo'' he finally says and I breathe out knowing what she is on. It's not good but at least I know what she is on. Avery throws him to the ground not wanting to make anything worse.
Getting back to Ellie she's trying to stay awake. "Lets get her back to my car" I say and Casey pulls the cloth back and there is no more bleeding. She only got a major nose bleed. Nothing is broken, just lots of bruising.
Casey places the bloody cloth on the ground. "She shouldn't need to go to the hospital, there is no broken bones or anything and if it's Benzo she'll sleep it off, I put my phone number in her phone under Casey, have her call me when she's more alert," Casey says as I scoop her up into my arms and I carry her basically the limp body. I put her into the backseat and I let Cassie drive.
He knows the city more and plus, Ellie didn't want to let go of me. She is laying with her head on my lap. I hate to see her in pain. I really do and I wish I beat the shit out of that guy but he already got something coming to him.
Pulling up to the apartment building, Cassie parts my car in the garage and I pick her up out of the back seat. "Will you call us tomorrow and tell us how she is?" Avery says and I nod. They take the stairs to the lobby to go to the guest parking lot.
I carry Ellie all the way up to our apartment and bring her to her bed. I get her leather jacket off of her. Hanging it on the back of her chair. I know she hates to sleep in anything other than her shorts and shirt.
I take her shirt off and I can fully see her bruised side. Asshole. I pull her oversized shirt which Naomi has the same one. I peel her pants off and out of respect I look away as I do so, I pull her shorts up.
Changing her shirt I didn't feel so bad about or changing her at all. When she used to come back to her house drunk. Well back to my house because her parents would kill her. Naomi would also be drunk. But I'd change Ellie, she pukes a lot when she drinks too much.
Going back to my room I change into a sweat and take my shirt off. Grabbing my pillow and black I go back to Ellie's room and I set up on her floor. I don't want to go too far in case she wakes up and needs something.
