ELLIE
**July 15**
"I think we can finally start putting things in," I paint the Italian flag on a potion of the wall, with the help of Lindsay.
We also wrote her name on the Italian Flag. We've decided on Lilianna-Rose Amelia Alvarado. Lindsay came up with Amelia and wanted to add rose to her first name because I have Rose in my first name.
Lindsay is still holding firm that he will take my last name. I don't mind it, actually, I love that he wants to take my last name. It's just so uncommon.
My due date is less than two weeks away and we haven't put together the nursery.
Now that Lindsay is done his first semester of school for the year, he already did his exams and everything. We have more time now to prepare, we kinda put the nursery on hold so that Lindsay can finish his semester.
"Alright baby, how about you go have a nap, I know you are tired, and I'll start building things. we can rearrange it later."
I am tired, he wouldn't let me help even if I wanted to.
Kissing his cheek I wander off to bed. Not bothering with changing I just get into bed.
~*~
"Lindsay, how you doing," I ask as I'm entering the nursery. I don't know how long I slept for but it was sure a good sleep.
Lindsay has the crib and the dresser set up. I went with just a dress and put a changing bed on top of it. Mostly so I didn't have to buy a new dresser when she got older.
That's why I also went with a softer orange and an off-white for the wall colours. I didn't want to do pink because well, that's such a basic girl colour.
He also has the rocking chair set up and a few other small things. "How did you get all thing done in a few hours?"
"Avery and Casey stopped by. They helped, Casey was actually a lot of help. She wanted to see you but you were sleeping." Lindsay says standing up.
I've been spending loads of time with Casey ever since she found out I was pregnant. She has wanted to be the best friend I could ever ask for and help with anything.
She'll even come over when Lindsay is working late and cook food for me or help me clean up. Lindsay has found her a big help seeing how he's trying to get through his first semester.
Casey goes to school too, I keep forgetting what she's majored in. But she only has classes in the morning until noon.
"I think we should put her bassinet in front of the window and Dresser on this wall," I say, we have her crib still in a box but she won't need that for a while. From all my research I've learned that they sleep in bassinets until about three to six months old.
This bassinet has wheels so it's able to be brought between rooms. Since mine and Lindsay's room is right next to the baby's so it will be easier.
She has tons of swaddled and bottles. I didn't buy the typical baby carrier, it's like this very long piece of fabric to hold the baby.
"Then that should be good, I'll come in and decorate later," I say leaving him to move them around.
Walking down to the kitchen I start to make supper. I'm craving some mac and cheese.
Lindsay comes down as I'm stirring the cheese into the noodles. He wraps his arms and cups my stomach.
He hums against my neck and places a kiss on my skin. "Ti Amo," Lindsay says against my skin. I will never get enough of him speaking Italian.
I mean he's been learning off of me now, since I've learned he was learning I kinda took over from then.
It's kinda funny watching and helping him learn. "Ti amo anch'io piccola" I say to him.
[TRANSLATION: I love you too baby]
"You want to work on your Italian some more after dinner," I ask him. We have planned that we are going to teach our daughter Italian.
How my parents did it was they spoke frequently English and Italian around me.
I want our child to speak both English and Italian. "Yes, then we can work on your birth plan like you've been wanting to do for days," Lindsay says walking away, over to the table. He has both of our plates.
Sitting across from him he smiles at me.
"Lindsay," I say quickly grabbing my stomach. His eyes switch to panic. "I think something is wrong," I say gasping in pain.
Lindsay pushes his chair back standing up, "if something is wrong with the baby then we need to get you to the hospital," he exclaims grabbing my waist and picking me up.
Lucky he's been lifting more so he could lift me.
He carries me out to the carrier to the car. One of our neighbours rushes over and opens the back seat door for us.
Lindsay quickly thanks him before getting in the driver's seat. He punches in the directions for the hospital. "for the love of God," I scream as another gush of pain overwhelms me.
The last thing I hear is the sound of a horn and the sound of glass shattering. My body jolts forward before I blackout.
