As the days went by after the six friends became new monarchs of Narnia, they had been doing their best to rule the land. They were the kind, generous and compassionate monarchs in all of golden age Narnia. And their love and friendship for each other has grown stronger than usual. Almost too good to be true. But Esther still had some difficulty with being friends with Susan, due to the fact that she had the power to know the future of her land and her new found friends and what their life would be like as they get older. And the five friends sometimes wondered why.

Dawn woke up in her chamber with a muffled sounds of clashing. She thought it was some kind of problem going on. She did her morning routine, changed into her mint green dress and exited her chamber. Dawn passed her boyfriend's chamber only to find empty. Peter was outside, sword fighting. Dawn hurried out of the castle to watch her boyfriend. He was training another fellow Narnian, a Centaur. She watched in awe as she studied their movements. Once they finished, Peter waved his girlfriend over. Dawn waved back and smiled. Peter then went to her. "Morning, love."

"Morning, my lovey." Dawn greeted and wrapped her arms around his waist. Peter hugged her in return. "What you doing?" Dawn asked him playfully.

"Practicing..." Peter smiled. Dawn nodded and chuckled. "Wanna try?" He asked her.

Dawn nodded. "Sure." She smiled. Peter handed her a sword. "I'll go easy on you."

"Alright, hehe." Dawn giggled as she took it from her boyfriend. She drew her sword and Peter drew his. They started to sword fight. Both their swords began clashing each other. Dawn blocked Peter's sword and it went flying out of his hand and landed on the ground. She ended up winning surprising her boyfriend.

"Eeep! Sorry!" Dawn squeaked. Peter chuckled. "Hey, it's fine." He reassured his girlfriend.

"Maybe we can go again?" Dawn asked.

"Sure." Peter smiled. Dawn picked up Peter's sword and handed to him. He got it from her hand. "Thanks."

"You're welcome." Dawn smiled. They both circled each other. "You ready for this?" Dawn asked.

Peter nodded. "Very." He said bravely. "Alright." Dawn smiled. The duo began their duel. The boyfriend and girlfriend swung their swords and they clashed together. They blocked with their shields and kept going until Dawn fell backwards and landed by the butt on the ground. This time Peter won the sword fight. "Congrats, my king." Dawn smiled as she got up on her feet. "You won!" Peter smiled and bowed to his girlfriend. "Thank you, my queen." Dawn curtsied in return. Peter chuckled and took her hand.

Then they went to the stables and brought their white horses to go for a little ride. Peter helped Dawn up on her horse and helped insert both her feet to the stirrups. He went to his horse and got on, and they rode out of Cair Paravel and to the grassy land. "This feels good." Dawn said as she took a big breath of fresh air. "So peaceful..."

"It is." Peter agreed. "Without anything wrong going on here." Dawn nodded. They gave each other smiles as they rode their horses beside each other. They continued cantering around the castle area until they stopped and saw two figures in the distance. It was Edmund and Esther. Then the duo trotted their horses and went to find Edmund comforting Esther who was crying in his arms. Peter and Dawn dismounted their horses and knelt beside them.

"What's the matter, Esther?" Dawn asked.

Esther wiped her tears. "I can't date Edmund....it's a rule." She sobbed.

"Who told you that?" Peter asked her.

"My father." Esther said. Dawn sighed. "You and Aslan argued, did you not?" She said. Esther sighed. "How could I?" Dawn and Peter placed their hands on Esther's shoulders and gently caressed them.

"Peter and I know what it's like, Est." Dawn said sympathetically.

Esther wiped her face and looked up to them with her wide green eyes. "You do?" She asked.

Peter and Dawn nodded. "Back in our world, our parents don't and won't approve our love and friendship with each other." Dawn explained. Esther sighed. "Oh..." She said and nodded. "It's because our parents are rivals with each other..." Peter added. "For...I don't know....quite a while or something I guess..."

Esther sighed. "I wish I knew..." Dawn just nodded. "We tried to ask them why, but they don't want to talk about it." She said. Then, Lucy and Mr. Tumnus came over to see what was going on. Esther quickly wiped her tears. She didn't everyone to know.

"Est!" Lucy said as she saw Esther with tear stained cheeks. "What's wrong?"

Esther bit her lip. "I'm fine." Lucy frowned a little bit. "You don't look fine." Mr. Tumnus said, looking quite concerned. "Please tell us. We won't judge. It won't hurt our feelings." Esther shook her head softly. "No....it's fine..." Lucy and Mr. Tumnus just nodded, but still wondered why Esther was so sad.

"I should go take a nap or something." Esther got up.

"Pardon?" Lucy asked. Esther shook her head and walked away. Edmund sighed. "Aslan doesn't want me and her to date." He answered on his girlfriend's behalf. "Ohhhh..." Lucy and Mr. Tumnus nodded. "So that's why Queen Esther is so upset..." Mr. Tumnus said. Edmund nodded. "Very." He said.

"I hope and wish we can do something about it..." Lucy said sadly. Edmund nodded. "I wish we could too." He agreed.

"We sometimes get busted by our parents when they see us together." Dawn told them and Mr. Tumnus. Mr. Tumnus raised a brow. "How come?" He asked. "My parents and their parents dislike each other." Dawn answered him.

The Faun nodded. "Why?"

Dawn sighed. "I don't know." She replied. "They wouldn't tell."

Mr. Tumnus nodded. "Oh my." He said.

"I know..." Dawn said. "Even my younger brother doesn't like them, except me and my older sister." Mr Tumnus sighed. "Maybe Esther can see why..."

"I suppose." Dawn said to him. The five children and the Faun then headed back to Cair Paravel. Peter and Dawn brought their horses back to the stables to have them tended. Then they headed back inside the castle to have their meals with the others. And they just did their duties as kings and queens for the rest of their day.
