"Tell you children what?" Their mother asked again.

"About why we can't talk to the Jamesons." Peter sighed. "Especially Dawn." Helen's eyes went a bit wide. "Oh, you were out with that girl next door, weren't you?" She asked them.

Susan nodded. "Yes, Mum." She answered. "I know we're not allowed to be around the Jamesons because of the rivalry. But why are you and dad don't get along with Dawn's parents?" Helen looked at her kids. "Lets sit for this."

The four siblings looked at each other somewhat confused. They walked to the living room with their mother and father and sat on the couch. "So, uh...what is the reason, Mum?" Edmund asked nervously.

"Yeah Mum." Lucy said. "Please tell us." Helen sighed. "I will tell you since your father doesn't." She took a deep breath and began to tell the story of their rivalry with the Jamesons.

"Before you kids were born, your father and I used to own a farm further in the countryside near the Jameson couple." Their mother started. "The Jamesons had less amount of land than your father and I. However, they wanted some more amount of land from us..."

"And..?" Susan asked.

Helen sighed, looking somewhat guilty. "And we said no..." she answered.

"But why?" Peter asked.

Helen sighed. "Because we were worried and afraid that they might compete against us to see who had the biggest land." She answered her eldest son. "And Mr and Mrs. Jameson were...seemingly competitive towards us."

"So that's a good reason?" Peter asked. Henry nodded with a firm look on his face. "Yes, son." He said. Helen shook her head. "No.." Helen answered. Before Peter could say another word, Lucy butt into the conversation. "Then what happened to the farm?" Lucy asked her mother. "And when did you move here in Finchley?"

"After we got married, dear." Helen answered her.

"Yeah but what about the farm?" Edmund asked.

"It was given away." Helen said.

"To whom?"

"You will have to ask your father." Helen said. Edmund turned to his father. "Dad, who did you give the farm away to?" He asked.

Henry sighed. "An elderly lady." He replied. "We didn't need it when your mother became pregnant with Peter." Peter's eyes went a little wide and he tilted his head. He then raised an eyebrow. "So I can't talk to the girl I love because of this?" He asked, raising his voice like he was about to get angry. And no one wanted Peter to get angry.

Helen sighed. "Peter, I—" But it was too late. Peter stormed up to his room. "Oh, son...please...!" Henry said, feeling concerned. Peter slammed the door shut. "Now what?" Lucy sighed.

"Maybe I should talk to him...." Edmund said. Susan and Lucy nodded. Edmund walked upstairs and shyly knocked on his brother's bedroom door. "Peter?" He said. "It's me, Ed." Peter opened the door half way. Edmund entered the room and gave his brother a hug. But Peter didn't hug back because he was too angry. Edmund sighed and looked at him. "Are you okay?" Peter shook his head. "Not so much.." He replied.

Edmund nodded. "I understand...I should." He said. Peter gave his brother a little sad smile. "I know what it's like not being allowed to love someone." Edmund said sadly. Peter gave him a half, sad smile. "Yeah, I know." He replied, rubbing his shoulder. Lucy soon came in with some 'feel better' cookies.

"Hi, Lucy." Peter greeted his youngest sister. "What brings you here?"

"Me and Susan just made some of grandmother's 'feel better' cookies." Lucy smiled.
