~September 7, 1940~

One terrifying night, Dawn was interrupted from her drawing on one of her sketchbooks by muffled shouts, sirens and noises which sounded like thunder. She approached to her bedroom window to see what was happening, and couldn't believe her eyes. She saw some tiny planes flying over the sky dropping little bitty things that happened to be bombs or air raids. Orange lights flashed through her window like lightning sweeping through her bedroom and Dawn quickly ducked down. She curled up and covered her head and face with her arms in fear. She let out a big gasp as her sister, Jane barged into her bedroom carrying a lantern and her psychology books on her other hand.

"Dawn, we've got to get out!" Jane shouted. She quickly took her younger sister's arm and pulled her out of the bedroom. They both ran towards Daniel's room but it was locked. They didn't know why he locked his door. Dawn knocked on her brother's bedroom door endlessly. "Daniel!" She shouted. "Wake up!"

"Open the door, Danny!" Jane yelled.

"Ugghh...just five more minutes, mum." The sisters heard him groan. "Daniel, there's no time!" Jane panicked. "Come on out!!" Then they heard a bomb explode, causing their house to shake and some of the pictures fell off the walls. The sisters shrieked and braced themselves on the walls to prevent themselves from falling down. Penelope emerged upstairs carrying a flashlight in one hand and some of her books on the other to where her children were. That was when Daniel opened his door still half asleep.

"WAKE UP!" Dawn shook her brother's shoulders.

"Danny, snap out of it!" Jane scolded.

"Huh? What's going on?" Daniel was almost back in his world. Dawn groaned and rolled her eyes. "We have no time!" Penelope announced him with fear in her eyes and the sounds of explosion making him know what really was happening. "It's not safe here! We must leave! Now!"

"I'll get Bingo and we'll go to our shelter!" Dawn said as she run down the stairs followed by her mother and siblings. She ran to the living room where Bingo curled up in his bed whimpering with fear due to the sound of explosions and muffled shouts.

"It's alright." Dawn said as she scooped Bingo in her arms. "Mummy's here." And she carried him and hurried towards her mother and siblings. Penelope and Jane led Dawn, Daniel and Bingo to the back door and they crossed their backyard of their house. As the Jamesons were running to the bomb shelter, Dawn turned her head to the right to watch the Pevensies next door running wild as well. Daniel then realized what was going on when they saw the planes soaring across the sky dropping bombs all over the place.

Dawn's running was stopped when she heard Edmund yell "Wait! Dad!" She turned to see him rushing back to his house. "Edmund, NOO!!" She heard Helen yell out for his younger son. Dawn froze as she watched.

"I'll get him!" Peter called out as he started to run after his brother. "PETER!!" Dawn cried. Peter kept going. Dawn stood there anxiously watching her boyfriend running after Edmund. As Penelope opened the bomb shelter door for her children, she turned to Dawn and Bingo. "Dawn, get in!" She shouted. "NO!" Dawn refused. "I can't leave Peter!"

"They'll come out!" Her mother said. "Don't worry!" Dawn wouldn't listen to her. "Nooo!" She whined. "I want to wait for them!"

"Dawn, come on!" Jane shouted.

"I can't!" Dawn started to cry. Jane looked at her mother.

"Dawn...please just get in." Penelope begged. Dawn sighed and began to make her way.

Momentarily, it was interrupted by another bomb that struck the ground. It caused her feet to shake and Bingo to yelp. Orange lights started blazing through the windows of the Pevensies' house. "Oh God!" Dawn gasped as she clamped her hand over her mouth. She buried her face in her puppy's fur and prayed that Peter and Edmund make it out alive.

After terrifying seconds, Edmund ran out of the house, with a broken photograph of what it turned out to be his father in his hand. He was followed by Peter. They both looked unharmed. As the brothers jumped into their shelter, Dawn heard muffled sounds of Peter angrily berating Edmund. That was when her sister and mother pulled her into their bomb shelter.
